Last week of May

It's hard to believe it is already the end of May.....

Started my week with flu/covid vaccinations.... tick that box....

Crochet blanket was finished and another started... the next one is a mix of blue/grey/white

Between Embroidery Guild on Saturday and Quilt Group on Tuesday and Guild again today these Sashiko style blocks were done.... (yes, I'm a groupie)

I have been sewing blocks for a friends quilt so in between these ender/leader blocks have been done... they are supposed to join the others which have been put in such a safe place I can't find them!  They will turn up sometime.... (I hope)

My jacket!! I am thrilled with it - except my machine just wasn't handling the buttonholes.... I don't know why but I did read the automatic buttonholer (which mine is) can sometimes play up with difficult fabric... I have garment sewing on Sunday so I will take it with me and April will help me conquer that part.....

It was a disappearing 9 patch block and I wasn't able to make the front halves be opposites but they do match... and look at my pattern matching pockets!!!

This week has cooled down considerably, so it looks like it has been finished just in time!

Righto, Gotto Go......  I can smell the coffee is ready...... have a lovely weekend...x

AMAZING! Congrats on this wonderful jacket. I don't think having the front halves opposites would have looked as good as this. The little squares are perfectly placed to continue the quilt pattern like nothing happened. And those pockets!! WOW. Perfect match. A+ on this project. Bravo! Oh, Love the stars too. Enjoy testing your new jacket in the colder weather. ;^)

Nice cosy crocheted blanket finished .
Great “groupie” project you take to your guild meetings…
The leader and ended blocks are lovely and bright, hope you find the missing ones.
Your jacket’s beautiful. You did really well with the pockets and I’m sure your sewing teacher will help with your button holes…..

Your jacket looks fantastic! Congratulations. I always struggle with buttonholes - whatever the fabric. xx

Your quilt has turned out beautifully and you did exceptionally well to match the pockets. Good luck with the buttonholes. The latest leader and ender is very cheerful. I’m sure the other blocks will turn up when you aren’t looking for them.

Lots of lovely creations again this week Fiona. Love the jacket. My machine would not do button holes when I tried to do them on my Luna Lapin jacket, which was an old wool blanket, Mine is automatic too - not sure why, think it didn't like the thickness. In the end I sewed on buttons & hid snap fasteners underneath. xx

Your jacket looks like a big warm hug ... turned out beautiful xx
Lovely colour combo for your crochet.
What is it with projects that disappear into nowhere? lol It's like there's gremlins sneaking around playing hide and seek with our goodies.

Another great collection of projects.
But your jacket tops the lot. It has turned out really well and looks great. Good luck getting those buttonholes sorted.

Funny how things go missing - you probably had a tidy up! The jacket looks great and just in time as the weather did cool suddenly.
