We finally lit our fire this week at home... the temperature suddenly dropped and it feels like winter.... so far been so mild here.... I do love a wood fire burning...
A few more scrappy starts were made.... (I have a pile of the centre 9 patches so it's actually not very much sewing done this week!
I did take out an old UFO BOM by Joy and finished off these sweet stitcheries (Teacup Critters 2023 BOM) - they had been traced ready to go
With the cooler weather I am enjoying sitting with this snuggly crochet blanket on my lap in the evenings....
Every now and then I try and choose another stitch and work on my stitch sampler..... I'm not very disciplined but it's coming along....
Trimmed my stitcheries and put them up with the completed ones.... I have a bunch of squares and HST's already made so I need to dig them out and put this together... it will end up a cot size quilt (one day)
Here I am with the jacket on..... I wore it this week and it is lovely and snug. Because it had been well used and washed it is nice and soft.
Can you see my buttons and how perfect they are for this. They were removed from a doona cover when I chopped that up to make a dress....
Not much crochet happening last night... Apollo very seldom wants to sit on my lap but I think the snuggly rug was too hard to resist....
Righto, Gotto Go.... local daughter is making the big move in with boyfriend and join up their families and I'm off to help with the clean up .....

Lovely projects Fiona.
Can't blame Apollo for knowing the best spot xx
Thales wonky stars are lovely and bright and will make a nice kids quilt.
The cute stitcheries will also look great when finished with the bright stars around them.
Not cold enough here yet for heating .
Oh Apollo does like that snuggly rug you’re trying to work on.
Your jacket is gorgeous and you recycled the perfect buttons to put on it.
Best wishes for you DD….
Luv your jacket, looks so cozy!
Well done on the jacket - it looks great, and will be toasty and warm! I have a thing for star blocks, so I love yours.
Your jacket looks so good Fiona, lovely little stitcheries, your stitch sampler is coming along, nice crochet blanket too. Temp has dropped here too. Cold and very windy.
WOW! That jacket looks even better on and I love the buttons, just perfect. Cute little embroideries which are going to make a lovely quilt and the scrappy stars are lovely. Stitch sampler is looking good. Hope all goes well for your daughter. xx
It’s the perfect weather for crocheting a rug. No wonder Apollo wanted to snuggle. You finished your coat at the perfect time and the buttons are ideal. The stitches sampler is going to look great. There is no hurry. Good luck with helping with the move.
Beautiful jacket. I am drawn to your nine patch stars - they are so colorgul!
Lovely projects. Gorgeous jacket & the buttons match perfectly. smart kitty. :) My brother went to light his fire, he's in Warwick, & discovered a problem. So it will either be a cheap fix if it's the chimney or an expensive new fireplace.
Lots of lovely goings on. Ha, yes cats do like the snuggly places.
The top star on the right has such an interesting print in the middle of the 9-patch. I'm stuck there. Lol. It reminds me of a quilt you EPP a year ago or so. Love the tea cup critters. Was it in the original pattern to frame them this way? I've never seen this type of frame and I like it. So if you're the one who came up with this pattern, kudos! The quilted jacket fits you to a T. You couldn't have matched better buttons. So cool how sometimes things just come all together like magic. Bravo for this jacket. I'm also in love with the stitch sampler. If the evenings are getting cooler, Apollo will love to cuddle now. I can hear him purring in that picture. Enjoy! ;^)
Lovely work on all your projects. That sampler looks especially interesting.
Great work on your jacket. It does look warm.
Keep that fire going, it is feeling very cold.
Its even cool enough here to wear a jacket like that! Love the buttons.
So snuggly with a crochet blanket and a cat on your lap near the fire...got to love a wood fire...I wish.
Good news on local daughter...happy moving/cleaning.
Your crochet blanket does look snuggly indeed. Can't blame the kitty for wanting to hunker down there on your lap. Your quilty jacket is one of the prettiest I've seen. Looks like it fits perfectly too without being too bulky. Hope your weekend was wonderful.
Good timing for finishing off your lovely jacket. Nice work on your other projects.
