Marina and Me in Melbourne

I was lucky enough to meet Marina in Melbourne. We live 1307 km away and have stitched together and communicated bloggily so it was wonderful to meet at last.

I am such a country girl and really disorientated in the city - Marina kindly met me at the railway station and showed me around a lovely mall and treated me to breakfast (ham and cheese croisant and coffee) and we talked and talked and talked and talked, and she gave me this calorie free muffin... beautifully home-made by her ....

.... perfect for my autumn coloured pins ....

is there anything nicer than a hand-made gift?

I couldn't help noticing the art in the floor of the mall.... tiny little mosaics... lots of them....

..... anybody else out there think quilt design????

Here we are in this fantastic building....

What a fun morning
Then she took me back to the station
I really would have got lost otherwise

Thanks Marina.... hope we can get together again soon ...............

I loved this flooring...

we watched some cricket
bad shot - that's when DYS got caught out!!

took widget to Lunar park
walking into a giant mouth kindof freaks me out

I loved the mixture of old....

and new...

widget is learning to do self portraits

~ back home, hot, hot, ~
~ lovely rain this evening ~

time for tea and a light snack - G'night

You have contracted that condition known as quilter's eye where everything you see reminds you of a quilt or could potentially be a quilt... Careful, it can be dangerous! :)

How nice to meet up with one of your blogging friends. Like you I would be lost in the big city.
Lovely wee gift.

that is a lot of Km's between us. Looks like you got to see some other great places too.
I think it is a bit freaky walking through someones mouth too, lol.
Hopefully we will get to catch up again!

How fun - and how lovely to have someone steer you around the city! I'm the same way, take me out of my little suburban area and I'm LOST. That mosaic floor reminds me of Jinny Beyer border fabric! Love the muffin, how adorable and yes nothing nicer than a handmade gift. Widget is too, too cute!

How delightful to share that trip with you through the camera lens and your words.
I don't do well in cities either these days.
