A couple of weeks ago HERE I showed you my giant 6" ball I made for our scrap metal dung beetle....
I took a long time to make his ball.... hours of sewing 6 inch lengths of scraps to make 30 something metres of $%%&*scrappy fabric length ... then I had to iron it all to make 30 metres of #$$&** scrappy binding...
... this week I started playing with it....
... and after 4 hours I was doing this.....
(luckily I was at a table with some other ladies with great humour)
... until I had all 30 metres of this @#%%&* scrappy fabric covered clothes line rope ....
... then a couple of hours of fun thread breaking, stitch skipping, needle busting, finger cramping sewing...
... to make this perfectly symetrical @#%%&* fabric covered clothes line base
... and several more hours of manipulating this @#$%%&* fabric covered clothes line rope into a shape...
... to get this perfectly symetrical bag....
applause please for #$%%&* Bagus Vomitus Horribilus
doing all that sewing I kindof day-dreamed.. I think this is the part when I thought I was Demi Moore doing pottery with Patrick Swayze - you can see that lovely shape coming in....
.... it was such a lovely daydream.....
there are a couple of redeeming things about this #$%%&* fabric covered clothes line bag....
the buttons are fun ....
.. and it holds 5 bottles quite comfortably....
... drinks anyone?....
the first person to put 'vomit' in their comment can have the remaining few metres of #$%&&* binding to make their own $%&&*! scrap fabric covered clothes line rope....
Righto, Gotto Go... I think I'll remove one of those bottles from the bag...
.... and do some more day-dreaming....
(NOTE... the end result is in no part due to the assistance of others nor the designer - others have made fantastic bags)

lol Great story about the %#*@@!!! fabric!! That Patrick Swayze was easy on the eye hey?
Cheers, Anita.
Ha ha - having witnessed the 'joy' you and the other ladies appeared to be feeling while sewing, I will avoid posting any words with 'v' in them! Well done on the finished bag. It looks fantastically cheerful and sturdily useful.
I think I have to admire your patience and persistence. Worth all that effort for the bottles it holds!!
lol and I am not going to say that "v" word! I think I'd be opening one of those bottles as well :)
what a nifty bag, so great you enjoyed making it so much lol
Definitely can see demi and Patrick making one of your bags on the sewing machine, oops can even hear the righteous brothers.
I will definitely not be mentioning the 'v' word.
after making that %&$*#%@$ bag I think you may need to drink those 5 bottles to get over it........
lol i agree with chooky, lol, did Patrick sneak up behind you, what a post, you are so funny, enjoy your evening my friend and yep i am not saying the V word either, lol.xx
Stick with the bottles and the daydreaming on this occasion I think.
I would never have thought it was a bag you were making when you shared your fabric ball before..enjoy your daydreaming...
Vvvvvvvvery enjoyable post :o)
LOL! regarding the bag, and well described!
I'll pass thanks - though I have made a single coaster the same way - perhaps you can make some coasters for the drinks that you are going to have to get over this..
It looks quite cheerful really...
NO WAY am I saying the V word! I'd be drinking all five bottles if it was me attempting this type of sewing, before, during and after the event LOL, I don't think hubby would approve of me driving machinery while having a drink or two or three hic hic....:) Barb.
I love that basket. You are so clever. Hugs.....
Hey Fiona! So ... you love your new basket and the process of making it then! Tee! Hee! Hee! Oh dear, of dear!!! I shall certainly be avoiding making ANYTHING like this cos you're way more patient than I am ... I think I'd have been driven to empty all of those bottles before ever starting to put it all together! :0) Here's to a more restful project next. Bear Hugs! HIC!!! :) KRIS
after that blog entry i have poppped a bottle ....so bottoms up and cheers
Good to see you survived the bag making experience with you sense of humour in tact!
Enjoy the bag contents along with the dreams.
Lol you have more patience than me
Too funny! But the end result is fantastic! And the big buttons are perfect and fun! Love it!
LOL!!! 20 comments and noone is yet willing to say that dreaded 'v' word!! Lol! You had me in stitches from the very beginning ... all the way through the comments!! Well done getting all the way through it Fi!! I know I would've chucked it in long before you!!! xx
I knew I did the right thing when I changed my mind about making one of these bags....I commend you!
Wow, how brave were you ma king the #%^~< bag, I think I liked it better as a ball for you dung beetle, although if you can fit 5 bottles of wine in it it could be very handy
It turned out great but seems to be a lot of trouble....by the way, I love that scene in the movie, so sexy.
Mama Bear
Loved your post about making the @*&%$!+?= bag......
My DD bought the rope and book about two years ago at the craft fair. I will send her the link to your post.....LOL
I think it looks fab! though I do appreciate your trauma, it does look painful to make!
Oh Fiona , you are too funny and you made a great bag while day dreaming about Patrick Swaze , good choice ;-)
You crack me up! Yep definately might go and hire Ghost and forget any ideas I had about making a bag, I break enough needles as it is!
No-one is "VoM----G" here... but I do applaud you for getting thru it. Well done Fiona! :)
Wonderfully funny post, entertaining "tutorial"...win-win for your readers! Now, after one of those bottles has been emptied, you may even find that you love this "BVH" bag! :D
I love the bag. I think it takes hand made to the extreme though. I will not be rushing to try to make my own after seeing how yours was made.
I think I would've got stuck into those bottles whilst making this!
I really cant say that V word because I dont think I have the patience to make one of those bags. Yours looks great now it is finished, and its contents are rather good too. And as for your dreams - nearly but not quite enough to sway me towards making the bag. Great post, Fiona.
LOL! I can say "vomit" because you don't know my address here :) Hee heee! I have made a few baskets, but with a much easier method than that..... raw edge.... :) xxx
Another fabulous funny post.
Oh my Such patience and the day dreaming must have helped
Patrick could have put his shoes under my bed any time
You crack me up!! The bag is actually quite.....different!!
Oh, you made me belly laugh with this posting! Thanks!
Oh, and the bag is great!
I think I'll just admire your bag from a distance. I can only imagine the fun you had making this, lol. Hope it's more enjoyable putting it to good use
Anything that holds 5 bottles as well as that can't be all that bad! LOL
Another fabulous post, your bag is very clever!! Hugs Wendy
