Sheringham Park

How about a walk through a lovely park with me?

Sheringham Park is a really pretty place to visit and lots of fun things to see and do....  It was designed in 1812 by a chap called Repton and is supposedly his favourite of garden designs.... and we spent a lovely few hours....

I had 3 guides for this tour.... grandiekids #1, 2 and 4

We found a Bower....... with gnomes!

.... and toadstools around a tree..... lots of gnomes must live under this lot!

.... a pretty scented garden....

... and a pond .....

.... lovely gardens with interesting knotty trees....
there are also some huge old oak trees, apparently planted around the time of the Black Death in 1348

little platforms for views.... these are all large rhododendrons (the picture above is the lower branches of these rhododendrons).... can you imagine how this looks when they are all flowering - would be just magnificent.....

....... benches situated for nana stops with lovely window views.....

pretty little pathways.... with sea views...

this is a high tower with magnificent views of the estate..... and my two eldest grandies....

.... if you click on this picture you should be able to see the wind farm in the sea .....

.... spotted a steam train in the valley....

.... somebody needed a bit of help going down the tower.... (I was trying to get an idea of how high it was..... about 3 stories ...... lotsa stairs!)

...... little legs can get tired...... and need help from Pops....

.... and another little group of toadstools....

Hope you enjoyed this little walk.....

Righto, Gotto Go...... time for dinner.....

beautiful photos. would be amazing when those rhododendrons flower! Can't get over those wind mills.
is it an optical illusion or are they really in the sea?
