Another busy week but very successful for me...
Introducing my Honeycomb quilt (made using the Field Journal embroideries by Cottage Garden Threads). I started this in 2020 and it is completely hand sewn.
To be honest I am a little disappointed as I feel the embroideries don't show up and perhaps my teal was too dark. However it is a finish and it will stay as it is.
Regular readers would have seen heaps of the individual embroideries over the last few years. For newer readers there are lots under this label field journal
The back - well I love it!
It would fit the top of a queen bed comfortably. It's not one I want out for the cat to sharpen his claws on so for now it's a cupboard quilt.
The other finish is my KOGO blanket which is done in Torres Strait Island colours...
I love the little mini bobble edging... it was surprisingly easy. This pattern is the Meadow Blanket by Lucy of Attic24. (I love her patterns and have done several - she is very generous in sharing free patterns and tutorials on her blog)
Next I will do a cot blanket using another of her patterns.
I had these 4 Bondi tops cut out for some time and over the week managed to get them sewn up. They are not a complicated pattern and there are no zips and buttons to contend with ...
Several of mine are very faded now so these are replacements.
Righto, Gotto Go and hunt out some yarn for the next crochet project...

Congratulations! After all that work a beautiful finish of Field Journal. Definitely one for close up viewing to admire all the beautiful embroidery. The blanket is gorgeous too. xx
Congratulations on finishing your FJ quilt. Definitely not one for puss to sharpen its claws on.
The backing looks good.
Great crocheted rug.
Some lovely new cool tops for you …
I am SO in love with your Field Journal hexie quilt. Too bad you feel disappointed. I think that the teal pulls one in to have a better look at all the floss work up close and personal. AND the BACK!! WOW! The way you did your hexies is such a great idea. Awesome work. Masterpiece. I just want to pin a blue ribbon on this one. The blanket is beautiful. The edging looks complicate but so beautiful. I haven't crochet in such a long time. A girl at the Artisanat will give a course on a new technique and I just might go and have a try. Enjoy! ;^)
Your Field Journal quilt looks beautiful and far too nice for the cat to even sleep on never mind sharpen her claws, but what a shame it must hide away. Lovely to see your crochet and pretty new tops too.
I have watched you working away on your Field Journal blocks for a very long time Fiona & it has turned out stunning. I adore it!!! You will be so chuffed to have finished it - a shame you can't have it out to enjoy. Love the new tops. Love Attic 24's blog also. xx
Congratulations on finishing your Field Journsl quilt
Congratulations on finishing your Field Journal quilt. So much work and beautifully done. I do like that the back is beautiful as well. The rug turned out nicely too. Two finishes in the week. Well done.
Your Honeycomb Field Journal Quilt is amazing! Well done on a gorgeous finish.
Lovely tops ... I need to make a few more for this hot weather.
Congratulations on finishing this gorgeous quilt! Definitely not a quilt for the cat (I'm sure that cat had loved it if allowed!) Pretty blanket too and I love your tops. They look so comfy.
Congratulations on finishing Field Journal, is is stunning. Your blanket is lovely too, I like Lucy's patterns and blog too. Wonderful tops for summer.
Congratulations on your FJ finish. It has been a big project. 4 pretty cool and comfy tops.
I think the FJ quilt looks amazing. That is a great layout.
I think that it is only hard to see the embroideries because the photo is taken from a distance. Those who love embroidery will be up close enjoying every stitch.
Gorgeous crochet blanket, too. Lovely edging to finish.
Is it really 4 years ago you started the FJ quilt??? It look lovely. Love the KOJO blanket. Big pat on the back girl!!
Your hex quilt is gorgeous. Those embroideries are beautiful. It's probably better if folks have to get close to see how much work it was.
Well done on the finish - I am sure it is gorgeous in real life - and yes, keep that cat away! good work on the tops too....
and love the crochet - the edging is great!
Oh Fiona the Field Journal quilt is just gorgeous!!! I am in awe!! xx
