manly quilting....

A quick message to Kathleen - thank you for your comment... so kind.  It's coming through as no reply so I'm sorry not to answer but I do appreciate hearing from you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amongst my UFO's was a bunch of Snail Trail blocks (I was donated them in a scrap bag years ago!)  The little blocks were 3 1/2" and scrappy and I wanted to use them up.
This is my masculine mug rug which now lives in Hubz's office
... and my masculine table topper which lives next to his lounge chair.  I had a bit of fun with the quilting in this one...
This months Rainbow Scrap challenge colour is Multicoloured - all those fabrics which don't fall predominantly in one particular colour....
I found I had quite a few of those fabrics... can you see my fussy cut wording?
This the fullest of all my scrap baskets..
I have stitched up another block for Gardeners Journal... this one is Watering as you can see
Amongst my UFO's I had a whole bunch of 2" x 5" pieces so I have been putting rail fence blocks together for a while when I had a few minutes spare.....
they are now in strips and getting sewn together - when I have a few minutes spare...
Had a lovely road trip and met up with Michelle and Susan yesterday.... we sat in a corner at a cafe and stitched... and had coffee and lunch and there was a little bit of chatting
Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people sitting
Of course the time went far too fast.  Both special friends I met via blogging and it never feels like I see them often enough!
Righto, Gotto Go - woke up at ridiculous o'clock, so I find I have a few minutes spare so I'll go and sew those strips together....
Love the mug rugs you made hubby, very sweet and a good idea....I have orphan blocks too from the snail trail quilt I made my now husband! I am hoping to make a scrap basket out of my multicoloured scraps also, I have been admiring yours for so long, very impressed you got quilting phases as well!
Those snail blocks were so tiny! I've made them bigger and struggled with that, hard to imagine all the little triangles behaving well for me. Your rail fence has such a nice, rich red as a unifying color. It's going to be a lovely one!
You have made great use of the snail trail blocks. And the multi coloured basket works very well. There are a lot of fabrics that fall into that category.
The stitched block is very sweet.
Great work with all the scrap strips. Hope you got lots done.
Very manly indeed. And great use of already made blocks. The table topper is very inspirational to me. Love the plaid in there. Your scrap basket is so cute and it talks too! What a hoot! ;^)
Love your manly finishes - I need to do more "manly" projects.. poor hubby has to put up with a lot of pink! xx
Your manly finishes are spot on - bet hubby feels very spoilt having his own gear and not having to use the pretties any more! Your colourful scrap basket is gorgeous - and great fussy cutting! The rail fence is very effective, isn't it great how much we can achieve with a stitch here and a stitch there.... Lovely that you got to spend some time with Susan and Michelle, I still marvel at the friends I've made through blogging :-)
