A treasure to share ....

Today I am joining in with Melody's Tuesday's Treasure.... I haven't done so for a while.... but it is a lovely positive blog posting time and I do enjoy sharing meaningful treasures....

My father was an only child and my mum was one of two sisters... so we were a relatively small family ....

this is a favourite picture of mine... my maternal grandparents and their two girls... (1940's)
(my Pop and Granny in the back and Aunty and Mum in the front ... and the dog - he always had a doberman)

when I got married my aunt and uncle gave me this teapot.... it was one that had been inherited through my maternal grandmothers side and I felt so honoured to have been gifted it....

.... you can see dents and bumps.... I use it.... it makes nice tea!

Our family is now all over the world and my aunt and uncle settled in New Zealand in the early 80's and I was so blessed to visit them a few years ago having not seen them for over 20 years.... my darling aunty gave me the necklace and it's very pretty...

Growing up we had almost all of our Christmas's together with this aunt and uncle and my two cousins.... it was wonderful.

Recently my aunt had a severe stroke and this last weekend she passed away.....  so today my treasure is those special relatives in my life ... things don't make up for them but I am glad I have something tangible to hold ... and remember.

This Christmas will be full of memories .....

So pleased to hear the you use the teapot. Some people save things for a special day, I feel every day should be special :o) Memories are irreplaceable and you have both beautiful memories and treasures. hugs

Christmas is an especially good time for cherishing family and the memories they have bestowed on us. I love your teapot, I personally think metal pots make the best tea :)

That is so sad, you have had your fair share this year my friend. Your teapot is lovely and I am so happy to hear you are using it, I use everything of my Mum's if it gets damaged or broken, so what, things need to used and loved and not just put in a cupboard. Hugs xx
