This months colour for the rainbow scrap challenge is sea green, aquamarine, that lovely colour in between blue and green....
First I made my scrap basket with some of the pieces...... it's an easy QAYG way with no waste shown HERE
The bookshelp is beginning to brighten up with the different colour baskets.... (my batik practice one, purple and aqua)
Then a day of sewing with the gals got me a bunch of beach houses.....
these are all 2 3/4" by 3 1/2" so they are pretty cute....
... and on the subject of colour ...
I have a couple of different frangipani's in the garden
one is this beautiful cerise pink
and the other is this yellow and pink blush one.... I love them both and it's so pretty when they are flowering....
.. and again on the subject of colour.... we had a craft show here in Toowoomba over the weekend and I went to a colour class where we played with marbles, fabric, colours and elastic bands...
... and made a fun piece of coloured fabric...
.. this little piece of silk was used to 'mop' up colour from the above piece...
... it's all colour fast and was a fun time.... and I'd love to do more
I'd like to make something with those pieces... hmmmmm
Righto, Gotto go.... colours to work out, fabric to play with...

Love your baskets and those beach houses are just gorgeous! What a neat workshop to do.
Thanks for the link to your tutorial. I had computer problems and the techie had to remove everything on my computer. Thank goodness for external memory cards but I lost all my bookmarks. Those are gorgeous flowers. They would look lovely in front of your little houses. :^D Your dye experiment turned out great. Love both pieces. You must make something with these. You must also make more of these, hehehe!
;^)
Love that sea green! I have never seen a cerise frangipani, seen the paler one and of course the white and yellow one......we had one of those when we lived in Sydney, they grow like weeds there......it seems to be too cold for them here.
Great fun with your colour challenge. Will you have room for all the baskets. And I do love seeing the collection of houses growing. And more fun with the colour workshop!
I wish I could smell the perfume from the frangipani!!
Love the idea of the baskets. Definitely on my To Do list. Lots of fun with colour here.
Your SEA GREEN basket and blocks turned out GREAT, as did your fabric dyeing!!
Your baskets are wonderful! Soon you'll have one in each assigned colorway! How much fun is that! XO
Great little beach houses, they will make a really fantastic quilt in all the different colours!

The baskets are looking so good together. Can't wait to see what next months colour will be.
You are having a grand time playing with colour , your baskets are lovely and useful too , the little houses are adorable and wow on the fabric dying , something I would LOVE to do .
Those baskets are way to cute, what a neat idea. Oh Fiona I love all the color in this post - color is seriously lacking in my part of the world right now, how lovely to see those gorgeous flowers thank you!! Your beach houses are just darling.
love the little beach huts and looks like you had fun with that fabric, it's one of the things I want to have a go at. Have you got a project lined up for them?
Such fun beach houses! Are you going to be making them that size all year? They are so tiny.
Thanks for the link to your tutorial; I've been telling myself for ages that I need to make some baskets too, but find all that fiddling around putting in a lining takes to long. I really will get going on them now; scraps aren't fussy about seeing the seams! I hope you don't mind I've pinned your tutorial to my Pinterest board "bags and pouches".
Your beach houses are delightful! And now my cat is insisting that I make a scrap bag for her right now!
Love how you are building yourself these scrap buckets! Your beach house are so cute - what a stunning quilt it will be. Loks like you had an awesome time at the class - are you inspired to do more dye-ing?
Great baskets and little houses. Cannot grow frangipani here because of the frosts, but loved having them in Adelaide.
What a colorful way to spruce up your closet. Great baskets! I can't believe how small you're making those houses, wow!
Omg you get so much done..... Fairy girl was looking out for frangipani when we were in brissy but we didn't find one to break a bit off......I wondered why but she must have seen them flowering somewhere.....
Cute houses....
I have a soft spot for tiny house blocks. They look great. Thatfabricfeeling.com
