UFO finish .....

The best thing about going through my drawers I realise that there are sometimes projects that don't really need a huge amount of work.....

This QAYG whole quilt is one of them...... and now it's done and I love it....

The main photo is a good reflection of the colour - I used a mottled light blue for the top and a plain light blue for the back.

These close up pictures don't show the colour well and the trapunto sometimes looks like it is receding and not puffy..... but it still gives an idea of the work involved....

This was all quilted on a small domestic sewing machine - so I'd like to encourage anyone wanting to do some Free Motion Quilting.  Go for it and you don't need a big machine - just the hopping foot and some patience.  Smaller pieces are much easier when learning - make placemats, mug rugs, bags etc - or put together a quilt like this.

Righto, Gotto Go.... I want to go and stroke my quilt!!!

So lovely! Once you said the trapunto looks like it's receding, I COULD NOT make my eyes see it puffing out. I'm just going to have to trust you that this is actually a gorgeous piece of stuffed trapunto, and not dimpled holes into the space-time continuum :)
