Middle of September....

I was so lucky to have Michelle come and stay for a few days..... lots happens in our area at this time of year...

The Embroidery Exhibition was on which was the main reason for the visit at this time of year.... it is held every 2 years for 2 days...

Chinese embroidery - single thread silk on silk... looked like a painting....

we couldn't keep the brochures so I'm afraid I don't know who did all these, or even the kind of embroidery they are...
/

this Victorian casket was extraordinary.... single thread silk on linen

such a  lot of detail.....

these were little additional pieces to go with it.....

pictures just don't describe it......

I had my hexagon embroidered quilt there....

and a little honey hive box
(pattern and started by Marina) now gifted to Michelle

For a little bit extra we could get tea and slices

... of course we had to ..... the tables were set up with lovely embroidered cloths, pretty flowers etc... just makes it so lovely....

I have 'borrowed' some other pictures from Michelle

Lots of cross stitch, some was framed with glass over and the pictures don't show it well.... but lovely lovely work....

I think we both want to try Crewel now .....

There were over 400 pieces at the exhibition.... a sales table of hand made goodies by the members, a raffle and second hand rose sales.......

A great success I gather and a lot of work by the members involved....

Righto, Gotto Go... other pictures to sort through (thanks to Michelle who remembers to take pictures)

What a great display. Terrific way for the two of you to catch up as well.
The items that were in the show are stunning. There are a lot of talented people in you area.
And it is great to see your quilt in there looking right at home.
