4th week of September

Of course whenever I can I pick up a needle or dive into the sewing room

These Sashiko blocks have been done, I now need to draw up a bunch of grids for the next lot

I have tidied up a bit in the scraps and made more star blocks.... I now have 50 which will make up 2 reasonable size quilts.

For ages I have been meaning to make Trail Mix.  If I remember right Janice made this some years ago and I just loved it.  Free pattern found HERE

It does require some thinking of the blocks which I think is why I have been procrastinating.  Anyway I dug into my scrap boxes and smaller pieces of fabric.... I am not using just any scraps this time but have tried to put toning colours together.  Let's see how I do.....

Most evening I have been doing the crochet..... this is the Dune Blanket pattern by Lucy at Attic24 (but as you can see I am using one colour)  It gives a lovely texture.

Righto, Gotto Go.  I'm taking a few weeks break to spend time with family, and I don't expect any sewing will be done....

Sadly UK Grandie-boy isn't here yet - his flight was cancelled with the cyber attack at Heathrow..... hopefully he can rebook soon.

Have a lovely weekend.... catch you later.....

I love your cheerful star blocks and can’t wait to see your Trail Mix quilt. It is one of my favourite makes, as I didn’t overthink it, just went for it, using lots of scraps that had arrived not long before, as well as some of the last little bits of some of my first ever patchwork fabrics. I made mine square to fit on our bed better and it is my go to winter quilt for our bed. Have fun with it.

Your crochet is looking great. Shame about the flight - my nephew had the same problem. Hope he gets to you soon. xx

How many more Sashiko blocks do you need to make?
Your scrappy stars will make nice quilts.
Pretty pink crocheted blanket.
I also made a Trail Mix quilt and enjoyed making it from different fabrics in mine stash.
Hope you UK GS arrives soon.
Enjoy your family time.

Very pretty star blocks, great way to make scraps shine.
Sashiko seems to be very popular with a few bloggers.

You seem to be able to still fit a lot in. The star blocks are stunning. Great to have something like that to work on in between projects.
Good luck sorting the scraps for the next quilt.
I think that the crochet blanket is looking lovely in one colour. Great choice.
Any news on flights yet?

The pattern of your crochet blanket is wonderful.
And I'm especially fond of the stars; they'll be beautiful quilts.
I wish you much joy with your family, dear Fiona. The best thing there is—being together.
All the best to you all.
