First Week of September

..... and what a fabulous start to Spring .....

Perfect to sit on the veranda listening to my audio book and catching up on my Blackwork SAL

I managed to get 4 flowers done ......

I am still behind .....

This is where I am up to now with it......

Because Jack has a new fishing quilt I wanted to give his little brother one......

I have had Boys Story by Anni Downs in my house for several years and it has been enjoyed by lots of little visitors....

Blair is our youngest grandson so  I think it will go and live with him... not too babyish ....

I just love the quirky humour, I think it is my most favourite ever......

Two labels needed to be sewn on......

They are both backed with flannel which is perfect for Victorian winters....

I got some more cream scraps so I pressed and cut these for my scrappy stars.... have a nice pile to make more stars soon....

My crochet is going slowly as it is more of a pattern and thinner wool but I like the shell look of it....  all in one colour

I hope your week has gone well....

Righto, Gotto Go.  I am usually out on a Friday but today at home so I get an extra day to play in my sewing room!!!

Happy weekend....xx

That is a fun quilt - I'm sure its new owner will love it! Interesting crochet pattern, it reminds me of a stitch I used in years gone by. Blackwork flowers are very pretty, what will it be when it's done?

Your Blackwork is coming along (even if you're behind) just lovely. I love the third flower. You have such a lovely place to work too. Boys Story is the perfect quilt for a young guy. So many things to look at and get the imagination going. He'll love it. The crochet blanket is awesome! Enjoy the nicer weather! ;^)

Your weather looks lovely. We are blowing a gale here.
Great place to sit and stitch.
Lovely idea to share the quilt. It is always good to have someone to give them to.
Great progress with your crochet, too.

Such a sweet children's quilt. It's perfect.
My grandchildren are already big schoolchildren; the oldest just graduated from high school and is about to start university... I would love to use children's fabric :-))) but hey, I knitted so many children's things before I started sewing.
I'm so happy to see your beautiful quilt; it will be loved.
I hope you enjoy stitching... best wishes from Viola.

love your blackwork project, it's so pretty in the purples.
So lovely your boy's story has found a person to love. I still have mine, it's one of my favourites. Haven't had the heart to give it away- will wait and see if a little boy turns up at our house. So far just little girls here! And I don't mind a bit lol

That’s so sweet of you! It’s lovely that both brothers will have their own special quilts, and using *Boys Story* makes it even more meaningful since it’s already brought joy to so many little ones. Such a thoughtful project!
