It's a longer last week of February than the last few years since it's a leap year!
I delved into my UFO pile and put together this quilt top.... all the blocks were already made so it was only a matter of setting them out on the design wall and then sewing them together.....
I used up my coloured left overs of William Morris fabrics (I made a tuffet years ago from these) and I had luckily found metrage of the background WM fabric on a sale a couple of years ago.
Chandelier quilt is a free pattern from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star.
Wednesday was a Machine sewing day with friends and I finished off 16 log cabin blocks that had been all cut and partly sewn. The blocks work out at 14" each and haven't been sewn together yet. I have enough of the blue/grey to add a 2 1/2" border and do the binding.
Cabin time is also a free pattern found on-line by Mary Go Round Quilts. It uses 2 1/2" strips and I used a jelly roll I have had for years (can't remember the name of the range)
Righto, Gotto Go.... those blocks won't sew themselves together....

You done really well with your sewing this week.
Lovely finish and the Log Cabins will go together quietly.
Sweet Hearts and I look forward to seeing the knitting complete.
Excellent progress, Fiona!
The Chandelier is such a great design and those fabrics work perfectly. I do remember that Tuffet! Are you going to cut your hearts out or keep them as a panel? They are looking lovely. xx
You've been busy! The Chandelier quilt is beautiful and so are the WM fabrics you've used. Love your Log Cabin too. Cute hearts and nice color for the cardigan.
I wish my week was as productive as yours. Love the chandelier quilt. Sewing 16 log cabin blocks while with friends is a lot. I would talk and talk and finish just a few blocks, lol. I appreciate the little touches of blue among all the beige and salmon-coloured pieces. Love the little heart project. Charming. Enjoy! ;^)
Both of your quilts are going to be great...
and your hearts are beautiful, I love them.
I also make with knitting needles and wool. Good luck and a cheerful greeting from Viola
Your chandelier quilt is lovely, and so are those cute wee stitched hearts.
Lovely work as usual...love that first quilt.....Michelle xx blogger not letting me comment as me 🙄
I love that scrap quilt. I've got lots of square cut which would be great for something like this.
Always a lovely variety of projects in your sewing room.
You got a lot done! Having a social week is good every now and then too! xx
Great quilt and blocks Fiona, your hearts are very pretty. I am sure that cardigan will be finished very soon.
Good on you for working on your UFO projects. They both look great. Nice to have a knitting project on the go in the evenings.
That is a beautiful quilt and I am sure you are glad to have it put together. I have more than a few block projects that I never put together, so trying to get my UFO's done, a bit at a time. Those hearts are wonderful, what are you going to make with them?
Debbie
Great finish on the Chandelier quilt top. A lovely way to use up your fabrics.
That's a lovely colour in the knitting. It is great making items for little ones. They come together so quickly.
