That week that was.....

This last week went by so fast I woke up this morning thinking it was Tuesday!!!! duh

Sunday was Mothers Day here.... local daughter was working and the rest are too far away but I did have a picnic lunch gifted by them to pick up...

It was a lovely assortment of goodies from a lovely family run cafe....

A local park had live music on and it was a perfect Autumn day for sitting and enjoying...

I did take my crochet, but I kept making mistakes and did more undoing than doing.... (could have been that bottle of sparkling wine though)

I made more of my little blocks....

Now I have enough for the centre of the medallion.....

Tuesday was High Tea Cuppa for Cancer morning tea at Quilt Group...

There was also an Op-shop fashion show which was a bit of a giggle....
I won a trim ruler as a door prize....

On another day my Aida arrived.... this year I will learn blackwork with a few friends...

Wednesday was some quilting time and I did this sweet baby quilt made from the leftovers that I really loved...

swirls and hearts and feathers.....

Then I pulled out some fabric I have had for ages and started chopping it up to make a quilt...

Thursday I had a couple of friends over for sewing..... I got on and made up microwave bowl holders.  They only use 10" squares so I was able to find lots amongst the recent gift of scraps I was given....

I didn't read the sign on this piece.... !!!!   I better keep that one myself or I might lose a friend!!!

There is a good assortment.. I made 9 which is an strange number but that was how many wadding pieces I cut out from the scraps!

And now it is Saturday and not Tuesday so I will have to get this weeks quilting job done.....

Righto, Gotto Go..... coffee first...

Have a lovely weekend....

What a busy week you have had......makes me dizzy trying to keep up with you! The Mother's Day lunch was a lovely idea. I have done blackwork, it's very meditative - I love it, and have a whole book devoted to it.

Oh! I so love your quilting on the baby quilt. So lovely! The tiny little pineapple blocks make such a wonderful design when they all come together. I love that too. High Tea for Cancer had a lovely tablecloth. Was it embroidery or painted? Congrats on your winnings. I think you received the best Mother's Day gift I've seen so far. What thoughtful children you have. Enjoy! ;^)

What a lovely way to spend Mother’s Day. The picnic was the perfect gift. I love the FPP blocks. So much work in them. High tea looks very flash. You should enjoy the Blackwork. I made a runner with it as a textiles project at school.

Had a laugh at the dieting fabric! No, don't give that to a friend or she'll always wonder what you think of her! Great variety in those scrap squares, lots of fun prints :)
