Things at home.....

Since getting home after our break I have done a bit of sewing....

This is the August block for Garden Sunshine.... it was a mixture of foundation piecing, piecing and applique....

… and I got back to Wings with a  couple of blocks...

Lily and Dragonfly....

Bird in a Teacup....

A friend gave me this lovely King Orchid which has 4 spikes of flowers....

… and another postcard has been stitched....  I still have quite a few of these to do so I better get going with them...

I finished the first little penguin jumper.....

It's a very easy pattern and this will be my 'in the car' knitting project and just keep making them up as I go.... no rush but something to keep my hands busy when I'm a passenger...

Winter is 'officially' over now here....  I am hoping it means the end of coughs and colds …..  and it's already time to get those September things done!

Have a great week.....

Still waiting for my king orchid to put out buds, don’t think I’ll be getting them this year but down here they flower closer to Christmas.
Mines yellow, they are stunning plants.
Pretty postcard and cute penguin coat.
Happy spring!

What lovely work you have done Fiona, and yes, spring has sprung and I am enjoying getting out on our front verandah to do some stitching in the lovely sunshine.

And I'm heading towards Fall. :^D
Love your August block. Such a bright and beautiful sunshine it is. Love your appliques especially the fabric for the teacup. Wow! When you do the embroidery, do you use a hoop?
Have a great week. ;^)

Your blocks are beautiful, especially the sun one. I'd never heard of penguin jumpers until you mentioned them, and now they have been talking about them on our local radio station.

HI Fiona, I've just spent some lovely time catching up on your blog and see all your holiday photos. I really should pull up a map as I read travel posts so I get a picture of where the different towns/areas are! It sounds like you had a fantastic time and of course seeing family would have been a nice finish to your trip. Great that you had some travel projects going too, your socks and afghan look great. The applique blocks on this post are gorgeous!! Cant wait to start mine [fabric is slowly being gathered :-)] I've heard of the penguin jumpers before - a satisfying and cute knit.
