New Sampler and FNWF

My friend Jane is doing a sampler quilt online through her Facebook page....

I have known Jane through her blog for a long time and met her on my last trip to the UK which was so lovely...

I am using these leftover fabrics from a coordinated range...

This sampler quilt is perfect for someone new to quilting …. Jane is progressing the difficulty of the blocks.... for instance this first block is just a single cut square... the twelfth block will have 12 pieces to it..

She also does video's to help newbies along and provides a lot of support...

It's also free - so even more perfect for someone wanting to learn and maybe not spend a lot of money if they are not sure if they will enjoy it...

I am going to sew along - I am making the blocks half the size.  My small sewing is not good at all so I want this to be my learning for mini quilts.  This will be a great way to reinforce piecing skills and learn some new tips from Jane.

Her facebook page for the Sampler Quilt is HERE.....

This week for Friday night I had a double date …. Cheryll had us cyberly for FNWF and Marion at The Quilters Angel hosted the Friday Night stitchers (there was cheesecake!)

I started Block 5 of Flowerville (design by Rosalie Dekker)

I also spoilt myself with some pretty new fabrics, I love these pretty prints - not sure what I will make with them just yet.

I am well behind on my Moda Blockheads quilt so I have got the fabrics out and started some...

This is Star Power (Block 33)

and this one is called Gibby (Block 35)

Righto, Gotta Go.... I'll get on and do some more Blockheads ....

Thank you for the info as I just joined Loopy's Sampler Quilt. It sounds just right for me who is just getting back into quilting. Sometimes picking the fabrics takes the longest. Your fabrics are so pretty. I'm excited to join you and others in the sampler quilt.

I don't mind doing tiny applique but tiny piecing? Um, no. I'll leave that to you, lol! Love your fabrics and your stitching, and your piecing is so perfect!

I"m looking forward to seeing your new sampler progress. It will be pretty in those fabrics. I also love that new stack that has come your way. Very pretty. Good luck on catching up with Blockheads. I'm sure you will get there.

It is so nice of your friend helping others, specially the newcomers to patchwork :-)

I like your attitude that January 1st is just another day, that every day is an opportunity to begin again. It's true! I also like how you don't beat yourself up about UFOs and such. Projects will finish when their time comes around, won't they? As long as it's fun and involves a little dessert, it's all good :)

Jane's BOM sounds like a well thought out one and I like the extra challenge you've given yourself of making the small blocks... Your new fabrics are gorgeous - I'm sure you'll find a project for them :-)
