UFO made into a Christmas gift ......

I have spent a happy couple of hours this morning catching up on blogs and emails... so fun to see what Santa and the elves dropped off around the world

Wishing all of you a wonderful rest of the Christmas season

Here at home we had agreed home made gifts this year so I made this oblong piece into a bag for my daughter ....

This is the picture I included on my list of UFO's at the beginning of the year

I had previously 'candlewicked' the design and added wadding and done the quilting.....

(I think originally the design was for a long cushion)

so all I needed was to add a lining... with pockets... and some rope straps....

I put the seam in the middle on one side .....

... perfect for these warm summer days....

and perfect for me to have finished off another UFO

This little card wallet was included....

.... is it ok for a mother to lie about only home made?????....

Righto, Gotto Go..... frantically trying to tidy up for next year - some of those UFO's have been hanging on too long!

Spectacular!!!!! It just shows what you can do with a UFO... Yep I did a wee bit of fibbing about pressies this year - but it did take the pressure off everyone....And mums don't fib - they just embroider the truth... :-)

It is a gorgeous bag, Fiona. The koala fabric on the card wallet is so beautiful. Definitely the Gift Card is allowable.

That is beautiful, love the stitchery. My daughter came over with a new purse like that and I thought, you know, I could have made that for you, lol. I guess I need to start practicing my sewing skills this year.

I think that you could be forgiven for extending the meaning of "homemade". Lovely bag, beautiful detail.

What a beautiful gift, I have never tried candlewicking, but I love the texture that it gives. Lovely!
