Thunder and Lightening.....

I have noticed comments I made just disappearing - I have read others have also had the same problem.... grrrr... anyway lack of comments doesn't mean lack of reading...

We had a very loud thunderstorm wake us up at 5 in the morning at the weekend - such a big bang that my whole house shook quite hard

and this plate fell right off the wall and chipped
(quite amazing it didn't break completely)

I'm a bit disappointed... this was one of mums favourites...
 found some of the chips
so Hubz has a job next weekend

.... I'm linking up with Melody's Tuesday Treasure....

... my plate is still a treasure even if it is chipped...
(bit like Hubz really)

BUT

loud thunder means Santa is busy with presents.....

look what arrived for me last week from  Sherry who is my Santa Sack swappie

It was so hard not to rip them open... they are up in the top cupboard away from temptation

I have been a busy Santa's helper... this is something I am making for Sherry

........ Aaaaaattchooooo.......

Don't you hate it when you sneeze just at 'the moment'....

Oh what a shame about your plate, thankfully you have some of the chips so perhaps it can be as good as new once your DH mends it . What a time to sneeze :-) Oh on the comments , I had some advice from a blogger to download google chrome and since I have no more problems , you might want to check it out it is much faster than IE.
hugs

Ooooh cheeky lady sneezing at the "right" time.

Beautiful plate, even if it is a little bit chipped.

No wonder the thunder woke you up when it can knock a plate off the wall. That's loud and close!!!!
What a shame the plate was damaged. It's rather beautiful and reminds me of Jacobean embroidery!

Well at least you have a great story to add to the history of your plate despite the dang chip...

Hello Fiona,

Sorry to see what happened to your plate. Maybe a few little decorative paper flowers could be put over that area if it doesn't mend well. Good luck with those Chrisie presents, no peaking now.
happy days.

I have managed to circumvent the leaving comments issue by downloading Google Chrome. Commenting is working perfectly now. Much too bad about your plate - it is beautiful.

LOL at that photo of Sherry's pressie. As for the thunder...I LOVE thunder but that was too much. I am sorry about your plate!

Wow, that thunder must have been fairly close! I'm sure Hubz will fix it as good as he can, and if there is still a tiny chip.....why then, it is part of the plate's history. All things have a history!

Such a sneaky peak! Bless you! My dad was the repairer of all broken pieces of china and pottery! I sure miss his expertise. I hope your pretty plate is back in one piece soon!

The thunder sounds like it really was bad, what a shame about your lovely plate. Hope your husband can fix it well.

As for Christmas pressies bah humbug! You are organised... I can't even seem to get myself organised day by day, let alone for Christmas. Well done.

That must have been one almighty storm. I hope you're not scared of thunder.
I was having the same problem with comments. The trick is when you sign into Google, DO NOT TICK the "Stay Signed In" box. I've had no problems since. Chooky pointed me in the right direction.

That must have been a really wild storm, what a shane about your plate.
That looks like a great group of pressies.

You're so funny....
I hate when I've spent some time typing a comment and then lose it, I'm tempted to go away without trying again...you're right, it doesn't mean no one's reading...I bet we get a lot more hits that we know about.
Sorry about the plate. It doesn't seem to be too bad so hopefully it can be repaired without too much trouble. Remember the dish that my daughter taped together because it belonged to her grandmother.
I try to put my parcels in my Santa Sack right away and forget about them. Anticipation is better than temptation.
What are your fabric choices for the new SAL?

What a shame about the plate, it's so beautiful and obviously has memories attached ....now it will have a new one - the 'night of the terrible thunder' and how hubby lovingly fixed it for you :)
