Oh my goodness, half the year has passed by!!!!
Lost Blogs
I had a message from Julie (thank you so much) noting my blog had not shown up on her list/feed .... and I went to check my feed and so many blogs I had missed (including Julie's).... I don't know what has happened but I am having a lot less feeds to read and having a lot less readers....
I am slowly re-building up a list for on my blog side bar - perhaps this will help. Anyway if you haven't heard from me, or can't see yourself on the left sidebar, please give a yell so I can get back to reading your blog! Thanks
I finished the binding on this quilt at Tuesday girls sewing.... I had a bunch of William Morris scraps and found a suitable WM for the background
I made the top in 2024 and quilted it earlier this year in a fairly loose all over florally design
This pattern is Chandelier quilt - there are a few free and for purchase patterns on-line. This is the second I have done as it's great for using up coordinating scraps.
After I had sewn the binding down I did a couple of my neglected Sashiko blocks....
I will be more vigilant with them once I have completed the embroidery table runner
Hubz and I went to the local Museum this week, a snack at the cafe and then a stroll around - we haven't been for a number of years and there was a 'secrets' section.
I enjoyed perusing this embroidery.
The information provided:
STITCHED-IN SECRETS
This piece was embroidered by Jessie Porter in April 1900. Conservators removed the frame to reveal the original vibrant thread colours at the embroidery's edges.
Jessie lived with her husband Henry (Ernie) and their children Eric, Alan and Dorothy in their home Glenroy in Toowoomba. When she was creating this embroidery, she hid their names and the name of their property in the design.
here is a close up... what a lot of stitching in there.... slow stitching on steroids!
Righto, Gotto Go.... it's G&T time here....xx

I too am having problems with my blog sites updating each day--I have learned to click on the blog name each day to see if there is a new post or not-I have no idea why--and I am tired of trying to figure out everytime they change something--so I just check on my favorite sites each day!!! That is ALOT' of stitching!!!
hugs,di
Jessie must have had a lot of time on her hands....love the backing on the Morris quilt! Your last post didn't show up on my feed either, perhaps I should check my settings too.
I still get your post notification on my feed but I am missing a few blogs in my feed like Angela for Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! I've been following her for ages. Why it stopped coming to my feed? Sigh! Blogger is really not friendly lately. Lovely Chandelier quilt and bravo for a finished quilt. The Sashiko blocks are so interesting with their broken lines. Cool! Love the old quilt. Do I see 9419 in the first picture? They look like numbers and 19 is definitely there. In the other picture, above Jessie, written in white, is it Julie or maybe Louie? Part of the name is cut out of the photo. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy! ;^)
Great finish Fiona, it is a design I have liked for some time. What a gorgeous piece of crazy embroidery! I love it. xx
Blogger I a pain lately..
Lovely finish,
Such a beautiful embroidery work.
Love your finish. What a beautiful quilt. That crazy quilt is pretty amazing too. I admire people who can do that. One day I'll have a go. LOL
That quilt looks wonderful Fiona - I do love William Morris designs - my friend has wallpaper that is William Morris. My goodness that embroidery, I do think it is slow stitching on steroids!!! Hours of work in that & so much detail. It seems there are many of us having issues with blogger lately. xx
Gorgeous quilt finish.
I do wish technology would leave us alone sometimes...so frustrating at times.
Lovely finish on the Chandelier quilt. They are gorgeous fabrics.
Looks like your museum is definitely worth a visit.
