Easter weekend....

Another long weekend is behind us..... they go so quick.... Luckily Hubz has the rest of the week off so I can get jobs done around the house, like better light bulbs in my sewing room, and mowing the lawn, and.... cleaning the shed etc..... and finishing that challenging jigsaw..... whilst I get some me sewing done....

We did take a drive to Milmerran, a country town about an hours drive away for lunch (very good lunch at the local pub) and a look around at the murals depicting part of the towns history....

This one is transportation....

These are outside the swimming pool...

swimwear through the years....

the old swimming hole....

these are the dairy industry....

... at the old butter factory site...

and water for the town.... over the large resoirvoir,

there is apparently a 5th mural but we didn't find it....

They are really well done and I loved the sepia look to them

Finally after 20 years Hubz and I are watching Harry Potter movies!  It's hard to believe they were done that long ago....

Two down and so far we are enjoying them... quite clever though I didn't like the spiders!

I have been sewing!

This is a late March block for National Quilt Museum BOM

... and while I had the fabrics out I did the April block....

These are to be quilted as single blocks..... today I will pin them ready for when I get a chance

Handwork has seen the finish of another Civil War Bride block.... (harry potter spider scenes helped get lots done!)

This is the fifth block of 20 done.  I'm thinking I might trim them and join the first row together

Righto, Gotto Go... better go and pin and prepare todays sewing.....  it's a damp day so there is no point in doing laundry!

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend....xx

Fabulous murals. I have to admit I have not seen any HP movies. Pretty results in the sewing room.

Those murals are amazing Fiona - I just love the sepia tones of them all & it makes them look so vintage.

The murals are amazing - how cool to have the town's history highlighted like that - I am guessing it's a real tourist destination because of the murals? One of these days I need to watch the Harry Potter series too (or read them).....my girls were crazy mad on them, reading the books numerous times, but I was always too busy mothering to get into them myself! Your applique block is beautiful - great to get another one finished :-)

Oh and the National Museum blocks look good too - and they look like they are a great challenge to sew?

It is wonderful to see towns reinventing themselves with all sorts of projects to make them interesting and entice visitors. These murals look great and are very different to anything I have seen before.
All your blocks look wonderful. You are keeping a good pace going with these.
Keep enjoying your Harry Potter marathon!

Your Easter weekend sounds like it as fun. We enjoy finding murals and the ones at Millmerran look interesting. We may have to travel that way next time. I love your March and April blocks, as well as Civil War Bride.
