Device Disaster!!!

They say things happen in 3's!!!

My phone is old and does not have much storage and the battery only lasts a short while... I have to charge it at least 3 times a day....  Hubz ordered a new one for me on Friday.... waiting for it to arrive and I can move all my contacts etc over.... I use the phone a lot for live chats and text messages with my family and friends.

That's #1

My laptop is the device I used the most.  I find the keyboard and large display easiest particularly for blogging and I also like something where I can save patterns, documents, photographs etc.

I managed to drop my laptop and damage the screen.  They cannot fix it but will provide a new laptop at about 40% of the cost (which is pretty good really)....

Which means I have to send my old one away and wait for the new one to arrive.... about 2 - 3 weeks.

So if I am missing in action that is why ....

I can log in to some things on Hubz ipad.

That's #2

When we were planning our overseas holiday (which we now cannot go due to travel restrictions) my daughter passed on her ipad mini so I could download books etc and have it at a handy size.... well in the middle of a zoom catch up this weekend it started making the most terrible noises so I had to zoom out....  it is an old mini and not worth trying to sort out.... goodbye mini.  I won't replace it.

That's #3

It's maybe a bit embarrassing have all those gadgets to break ....

Oh well..... no people harmed

Photo's and documents have been moved over onto an external drive and I am just waiting for shipping labels to send it off...

Meanwhile I have done some stitching

I did finish off March's stitcheries for Gail Pans I Stitch Club BOM....

... and I dug into my scraps and found a bunch of ready made HST's leftover from a previous quilt, so I trimmed them all to size and will make up a little baby quilt with them...

I think that's a pretty layout.....

Righto, Gotto Go ...... I will be back ....  a short break.....

Take care, keep safe, keep smiling, keep sewing.....

OMyGosh - you certainly need a good laptop to do all the Zoom meetings
but all 3 at once - that is just plain nasty. I have a new laptop - though by choice - the old one was still Windows 7 - but still have some teething issues to sort out...would have been good to ship them both off and let someone else do it all.

thank heavens for our sewing!! LOL

Your stitcheries and the baby quilt are cute.
Oh my, to have one device go down is bad enough, but three!!
Glad you managed to rescue your important items.

It is said that things come in threes, Fiona - so you should be right for a while!

It's tough when we are so reliant on it. It's all been getting an extra workout. It's moving all the files that is tough!

Oh dear - at least, hopefully, all three bad things have passed and there will be no more... Gorgeous stitcheries.. It was good to catch you on zoom the other day even if it was for only a little while. xx

Good grief. That is very frustrating. Most of us are happy to go with the toaster, electric jug and hair dryer as our trio. But you certainly took it up a level! Hope it all sorts out soon for you.
And am pleased it has not stopped your stitching.
Lovely projects.

Oh, I feel for you girlfriend! Technology issues can be very frustrating and so time-consuming! I hope it all works out for you. So sorry you had to cancel your trip but you are not alone, I'm sure. Your baby quilt is so precious! I love the fabrics! Your embroidery is cute too, HAve a good week and stay safe!

Ouch! It's enough that we can't go out to see our friends, if you are stuck with no device to connect it won't make things any easier. I feel for you. Good thing you have a lot of fabric to keep your mind busy even if your heart is lonely. Take care. I'll be here when you get back. ♥ ;^)

Oh No how annoying for the three to all go at once but you'll have lots of learning to do when the new ones arrive..
Sweet stitching projects and the HST will be a pretty little quilt.

Oh no. I feel your pain and frustration. These items are essential during this pandemic to keep in touch with family, friends and the rest of the world. I hope the problems are sorted soon for you. At least you have your lovely stitcheries and sewing to console you.

The baby quilt is beautiful, pretty colours. Beautiful stitcheries too. Shame all your devices decided to go at the same time, but three happening means everything else is good and when you get all the new ones you will be right for ages. Hopefully you are up and running soon.

Such pretty colours in that baby quilt Fiona. Gosh that must be frustrating having all those devices go on the blink at once. Its times like this we rely on our technology to keep in touch. Hope you can get it sorted soon. xx

Oh dear! And what a time to have these problems. Hope you get the hang of the phone quickly and get your laptop back soon. Still, more time to sew... xx

I have the same phone situation, needing to charge it multiple times during the day. I was waiting for the new iPhone SE and on pins and needles that my phone wouldn’t die. The new one came yesterday!! Today I will don my mask and go to my provider to set it up. I’ve only been shopping once in 6 weeks so it’s an adventure!

Oh arrgghh with the devices! Hope you are able to get yourself sorted soon - and with the minimum of hassle. We come to rely on them so much don't we? Your I stitch stitcheries are so lovely and the HST will make a lovely quilt too....amazing what one finds when one rummages around isn't it?

The 1930's stars are very sweet and will make a lovely baby quilt. It really is bad luck to kill three devices in a row! So annoying when all our photos etc are stored on them, but so much easier then boxes of photos printed that get lost in cupboards!!

Oh dear... so annoying when our tech lets us down!! I have some issues at the moment with my email - one email can't log in on my computer, but can on my ipad, the other email can't log in on ipad but can on computer.. I need my IT husband to fix them for me... but alas, didn't get to fly over there, so now I am stuck... but things could be worse :) hope you get all your devices back to normal soon and your stitching is lovely as usual! xx

You certainly got the hat trick! You won't know yourself with the new. Gorgeous stitching xx

Hopefully that will be all the disasters you have. Think of all the extra sewing time you will have without the distractions of technology......says she who gets distracted too easily....... "I Stitch" is so pretty. I love seeing it progress.
