Stitching Easter .....

Not much going on ... so I may as well sew.... luckily there is lots to do there....

Sorting through some photo's I spotted this small mat I made a few weeks ago but forgot about.... the pre-printed stitchery had been a gift some time back, and I found some fabric in the Christmas box to finish it off....  a little bit different to the usual....

... and I  have now finished off all the little snowman hearts ... free pattern from BunnyHill designs though they are in a square block format now...

A large portion of my sewing time this last weekend was spent outside...

I have added borders to my Pinwheels quilt.... I think the pink helps to give it a bit of a lift

There was not enough of the pink for a binding but I have prepared a small peeper which I will add under the binding at the end when it is quilted....

This is how it all started.. quite a fun technique... make up the quilt with squares and a wide border then using the speciality ruler (or a template) cutting it up again to new blocks and rejoining.

I feel my fabrics didn't hold enough contrast but I will try this again sometime.... very effective and relatively quick.

Off to the Quilting Queue now... ready with it's peeper and binding....

After cutting out the pinwheels there was enough of each fabric in the scraps for 4 1/2" squares so I teamed those up with some pretty strips that I already had and am making them up into 4" HST's....  I'll make a pretty baby quilt with them.

Righto, Gotto Go... hope you are all going okay - adjustments have been made.

I am enjoying the extra sewing time.  Managed to watch a 'show' streamed over youtube.  Some of the big theatres (UK) are showing theirs for limited times.

I watch Jane Eyre... very cleverly done (finishing soon)

Have full shows over a weekend - sadly I missed Jesus Christ Superstar over Easter (ran out of time)

Some really great initiatives during lock-down time.

Keep Safe, Keep Smiling and Keep Stitching

Thanks for the link to the snowmen ornaments pattern. i shall download them all. I so love yours. Congrats for all these finishes and the flimsy. Enjoy sitting outside as long as you can. Around here, they are calling in some snow. I do believe I saw a few flakes today. It's so cold still. ;^)

Cute little Christmas mat and I love how your snowmen turned out! The Twister quilt is lovely - I agree the pink works well on it. I have a small one of those twister templates - you've reminded me I need to pull it out for a play!! Nice that you had decent sized HST leftover - and that you have a plan for them already :-) I didn't hear about the Jesus Christ Superstar streaming till it was all over - that would have been something good to see.

Hi Fiona - I love everything you have made but I just adore those wee snowmen. I shall have to go check out that free pattern I think! Lovely spot in your garden to work in.

The snow hearts are wonderful. It is lovely to see the different colour choices made as people make them. These will look great at Christmas.
I agree that the pink inside border works really well. Perfect to have a peeper added in the same pink later. That will look great.
Enjoy your shows.

How lovely that you've been stitching outside! Rainy and chilly here today, a nice break from the hot and humid weather we've been having. I hope you'll take some photos to show how you install your peeper strip. I've done a flanged binding where a bit shows, but never as two separate folded strips. The pinwheels look fun to make! It's on my To-Do Someday list :)

Beautiful pieces and those snowmen are adorable. I might start doing Christmas soon, that way I can work through the summer and have my things done in time. I have made so much during this time, I think I have enough for presents so I can work on things for me.

Hey Fiona, lots of great projects in this post but I really love the Snowmen hearts - so cute! I knew about Shows must go on (we missed Joseph but did see Jesus Christs Superstar last week) - Phantom this week, cool! But I didn't know about the National Theatre, also very cool!
