Tuesdays and Fridays.....

Tuesdays are my regular ChooseDay sewing day with a couple of girlfriends.....

This week I continued on my Granny Square blocks.....  these are the ones I sewed...

Here they are with the others I have done

Now I just need to trim them and then comes the sashing part.....

The blocks will finish at 8 1/2" so I think it will finish at about 60" square

For my evening sewing I started a replacement for my poor sad old peg bag...

This is a pattern by my friend Christine (one of the ChooseDay girls) and was in Homespun April 2016.

Since she was here at my house yesterday she taught me laced backstitch....(see on the collar - it's on the knickers too)

Here is my completed stitchery....

I'm not going to make a bag... but Christine gave me instructions how to make an apron using a dishcloth so I am going to do that.... with all the work in my stitchery I'm not going to leave it outside in our Queensland sun to rot like my other lovely bag

Friday nights are for sewing with friends too....

On the first Friday of each month Cheryll hosts

On the third Friday of each month Wendy hosts …..

this often coincides with Friday night sewing with friends at The Quilters Angel (my local quilt shop)

This Friday is FNSI  - anyone can join in.... just go off to Wendy's blog HERE and sign up.....

Same goes for FNWF - anyone can join in.... HERE is Cheryll's blog

It goes without saying that if you follow their blogs you will see the sign in pages each month.... it's a great reminder for me who has limited capacity of remembering....

Then sometime in the next couple of days do a blog post about what you did so the others who were there can visit and see what you got up to.... it's a great way to meet other bloggers and have a bit of fun..... and maybe get tempted with a few projects!!

I'm planning to work on my Flowerville blocks on Friday nights....

Everything I need is in a bag so whether I sew at home or elsewhere I can just pick up and go

Righto, Gotto Go..... I need to add dishtowel to my shopping list since I don't have anything suitable for my apron!

Wonderful pieces to work on and you are doing a beautiful job on both.
I think I get distracted too much, too many projects that I want to do and new ones that tempt me.

The granny block collection has grown!
Gorgeous stitching and yes, I agree about not having something like that outside.

FG granny squares will be a beautiful quilt..
Gorgeous stitchery , can see why you aren't going to put on an outside peg bag.
The laced back stitch looks lovely . Lucky you had Christine to teach you.

Your Granny Squares are working very well - interesting to see how you sash them. I love the Sunny Days stitchery. We shall be on the move south on Friday night so no stitching from me - however, Spanish food and more to the point Spanish coffee, here I come! xx

Great Granny squares and your stitchery is wonderful, I would not be putting it out in the sun either!! Always great to have sewing days with friends.

Your Granny Squares are beautiful - and that was a quick sew - it takes me all day to make one or two!! Good idea to convert the peg bag to an apron - the stitchery has come up lovely. Have a good stitchy night tonight - see you there :-)

You definitely don't want to put fancy handwork out in the sun just to hold pegs! We call them "clothespins" in the States. Some places ban hanging your wash out to dry here. Can you believe that??

You'll have your granny blocks completed in no time flat the way you are going. I do love you peg bag stitchery. It reminds me of the ones on the bottoms of tea towels. Yes, definitely too pretty to leave outside. Enjoy your stitching tonight.

Gosh - I was a bit worried that lovely stitchery was going outside. my pegs are in a canvas bag thingy - a bit more durable!!! and since my husband does the washing - it will stay that way!
