October FNSI

Thank you so much Wendy for hosting us for FNSI last night....  I have only recently started back sewing with other bloggers on these Friday nights...

So many people have stopped blogging so this will be a way to meet some other bloggers - I do like my morning read of other crafters all over the world....

This is my latest Dutch Treat Block which I finished this week...… as you can see it is a Windmill.... the blocks are in alphabetic order in the book so being on W means I'm close to the end.... 5 more to do....

For Friday night stitching I did a bit more work on my sweet Flowerville Project... as you can see I am using variegated threads …. the chain stitch is quite slow going but effective....

On my machine I have been playing a bit.... I was going to join my different size black strips together but now I have decided to use this flash of green and some curved piecing (which is new to me)….  It's a bit odd … but I will continue....

This morning we went and watched the first cricket game of the season.... and widget has come home with us for the night...

A lovely spot ….. and a beautiful day.... we have had a bit of rain and everything is lovely and fresh and green grass has come through....

Righto, Gotto Go.....  I need to supervise a young man and convince him to mow the front lawn!

and while he is doing that I can read what the other girls did for FNSI

You have some nice projects on the go to keep you busy. Some rain makes all the difference.

It is sad that so many bloggers don't post anymore. I enjoy both reading and posting and have made many friends through it and even met some. 😁

Oh the DT " Windmill" is lovely and looks like it was tricky to sew.
Your Flowerville project is looking great and I think the curvey B/W with a touch of green quilt make a nice quilt.

Good to see Widget out playing cricket. Hope he got your lawn mowed.

The Windmill is lovely and Flowerville is just so pretty! Gorgeous thread. Like your strippy playing! Amazing how quickly the wet stuff greens everything up! Wishing your little cricketer a great season xx

Your projects are beautiful especially that strip of green amongst the black & whites!

Love the green in the black & whites... It IS a shame blogging eems to be on the decline - having said that I am a bit guilty too!

Be interested to hear your thoughts on curved piecing, I've got a memory cushion to do and am thinking of doing some curved piecing

Oh golly the detail in that Dutch Treat block - amazing, I love it!!! And your stitching! Never did a chain stitch, I'm far too lazy - but it looks lovely.
The splash of green in your block is wonderful, well done! I watched a Father Brown mystery last night on Netflix, it was about murder at a cricket club - I don't think I could ever learn cricket, it looks very complicated, lol! But also somewhat similar to our baseball, although baseball is extremely simple.

Don't tell me all the detail on the windmill blades was reverse appliqued as well??!! Looking good :-) Lovely stitchery..the variegated thread works well for it. Interesting pieced piece - I look forward to seeing what becomes of it. It looks like it was a beautiful morning for cricket - hope Widget got the lawn mowed for you too..!
