We had such a great week with young Jack. His flight back home left at 6am so we were out the house at 2.30am and it ended up being such a rush as it is FIFO flight time (Fly In Fly Out) workers but he made it and was back in Melbourne before we were back home!
I sewed up my Floral Fun background on Tuesday ...... now it needs some applique flowers which I will be doing in plain colours over the next couple of months....
On Wednesday I sewed my 2 Be My Neighbour blocks.....
Joined them up and added them to the others.... Susan and I are now 3/4 of the way through these blocks and I love both our versions....
Jack requested mittens so I have been hunting patterns, yarn and needles this week. They are sewn on the round and going to be a bit fiddly - it would be good if he, and his younger brother, got them before the end of winter.
Disaster struck this morning when the coffee machine (we have drip one) just died. A trip to town has sorted that. Probably something like an element which doesn't get fixed these days. I have to say it has worked hard the last few years we have had it.
Phew, tomorrow morning coffee will happen!
I hope you have a lovely rest of the week and fun weekend....xx

Oh my goodness - 2.30 am is very early! Well done you! Loving your stitching this week, Floral Fun is certainly fun.
The Be my neighbours blocks are great. I like both versions too. Your floral fun is bright and pretty. Have fun with those mittens.
It was hard being awake for the day!! I am enjoying FF.....

That was a VeRy early flight Fiona. So pleased he had a wonderful time with you & he will no doubt request many more now. I love both your projects this week - they both appeal to me a great deal & I am thinking maybe I could manage the first one myself - doesn't look too tricky. My coffee machine is down to just one drip & takes ages to fill a cup. I'm waiting for them to come on sale - 50% off would be good!!
Looking forward to seeing what happens with Floral Fun. The houses are looking great, such pretty colours. Good luck with the mittens! A morning without coffee is not to be contemplated - hope you got one while you were out? xx
Oh no! I hope you grabbed a coffee while in town.
Floral Fun project sounds interesting and love how your neighbourhood is coming together xx
UGH - 2.30 am??? _ when our daughter left to go back home it was a 6AM flihgt - but we are only 20 minutes to the airport...could call it a sleep in.
good to hear the coffee machine is sorted...how could you cope without one?? LOL
Our neighbourhoods are coming along well.
The neighbourhood is growing nicely. Such a first world problem with your coffee machine. We feel your pain, as ours died when Lou and Tony were here, so the boys had to go shopping. All is well once we have had our coffee.
It looks like you had a nice time with your grandson. We haven't played Risk in ages, it is nice that he enjoys playing games instead of being on the phone. Always enjoy seeing what projects you are working on, always inspirational.
Those early morning flights are not a lot of fun, but of course they are necessary. Well done.
The floral fun background looks great.
Love seeing all the neighbourhood blocks coming together.
Good luck with the mittens. I would have cheated and bought some.
Enjoy that coffee.
Another busy week in your sewing room. Enjoy the new coffee machine.
