... and the year begins....

So many are happy to see 2020 gone... personally I feel we are still waiting for the worst and I am gearing myself up for more worrying than before.  Keep safe everyone.... the battle is on....

My pretty overnight bag had an outing at the end of the year....

We joined up with friends to go and watch a Big Bash cricket game.... we had seats a good distance from everyone else so felt quite safe....

Came home for New Year, with the same friends to find my Wisteria is on another round of flowering.....

A jigsaw was finished....

... and last night I finished off my first UFO of the year... this cream wool crochet blanket....

Taking a picture I notice it has a few kinks where I have doubled up the stitches....

It will stay that way... this one is for me and I don't mind kinks....

My car crochet for our trip to the big city is smaller blocks... which I will try and sew together as I go along....  the trip there and back was 5 blocks long....

... some local trips have only been 1 block long.....

Our council provides free mulch once a month so we did 3 big loads yesterday.... they drop it into the trailer but of course we have to offload it....  the picture doesn't look impressive but there was quite a bit done... a start on a new section for Hubz....  The mulch is pretty good and weed free, there are some bits of plastic from the ferals who chuck plastic in their green waste!!   but easy enough to remove...

So not much going on the sewing front.... I haven't done any sorting of projects yet, I have determined in myself to loose some weight and list a less demanding quilting jobs queue..... otherwise I will just play along with the year... joining SAL's, sewing with friends and generally drift through the year....

Wishing you all the best for 2021... who knows what will happen but I hope we can keep in touch and support each other from all over the world....

Righto, Gotto Go... weight loss starts with a healthy grocery shop.... off to do that boring chore...

Love the saying in the first photo. I too would like to shed some weight off. I'd be happy with 20 pounds off. I know if I get to that point I'll be hooked to lose more. I included in my daily grind a 15-minutes activity period at least 5 times a week. Wish me luck. What have you planned? Happy sewing. ;^)

The start of your year sounds very enjoyable. I think we are all heading into this year realising things are still very much up in the air. After losing 18kg a couple of years ago I have put 10kg back on. All our COVID baking would not have helped. 😜 Anyway, I rejoined Weight Watchers, so healthy shopping will be happening here too. Mick will have to gradually work his way through the not healthy food in the house. Good luck with your healthy eating.

I am not planning anything or expecting anything this year, just going to live in the moment and enjoy each day, as much as possible. I think being able to create helps us to get through everything else in life.

I love the verse in the first pic. Happy New Year to you Fiona. I have been shovelling mulch onto the gardens too - it is not easy work! But it will be great to keep the weeds down & the moisture in.

Happy New Year, Fiona! Wish our council gave free mulch, I'm pretty sure we have to pay.

Had to laugh over the 5 blocks long car trip. I think that we will have to take every opportunity that comes our way to enjoy this coming year. Good luck with the weight loss.

What goof fun to go to the cricket. Yes, sitting far apart is the only way to go!
Love seeing that wisteria blooming. And I do love the perfume from them.
Keep that crochet going.

Sadly, I think there is more bad stuff to come...but we just have to hang in there and do what is necessary to protect ourselves
and keep busy sewing & crafting.
I need to rid the house of some bad food first . . .then I best get healthier.

Love how you measure trips in "blocks"....LOL

Lovely crochet, good to see you got to enjoy the cricket, I like your description of your crochet blocks, five blocks or one block!! Great to get the mulch, we need some for our garden too. I have been offered stable waste so might take up the offer! Good luck with the weight loss! This could be another difficult year but we will get through with friends and blogging buddies.
