The week.....

I do hope your week is going well....

Over the weekend I put the borders on this little quilt/wallhanging

and it is now pinned and ready for quilting.... I will go in the ditch along the main lines and add some curved quilting in the four patches.... then some texture in the borders......  it has moved to the top of my quilting pile for now....

I have more of the dark red spot for the binding.

I started working on a Bondi top using Liberty inspired fabric and Magpie came to chat.....

Something has spooked him/her and now Magpie is not visiting.... though I can her her/him singing in a nearby tree.....  not visited for a few days now .... (sad face)

I am even making my own bias binding ....... these are handy little gadgets though I am not an expert and I don't get even sizing always.....

One top is finished and several more are cut out... then I'll be ready for summer....

I sewed up the needleturn for all these blocks (part of my Love quilt).... and then realised I have not done the bit of stitchery that needs to be added... so they are back next to my chair marked, stabilised and ready to stitch....

Sewing day with the girls on Tuesday and I worked on this embroidery, (part of Wish You Well BOM)... its a very sweet design... like a formal garden....

My pile of projects seems to be growing... not shrinking....

Righto, Gotto Go... today I am doing quilt job job.... and there is a growing pile of that too. I love that I spend the day sewing and I can call it 'work'....

... but first... coffee....

Such gorgeous projects Fiona & I adore that sweet little top you have made ... what a delightful pattern & fabric. That bias maker looks interesting - I have just made a scrappy binding & wished I had've had one of those - might have to go looking.

great top Fiona, love the fabric.
love your prepped top, the colours are just so beautiful.
Bias makers are great gadgets, mine gets lots of use for making stems for applique. Love quilt blocks are gorgeous!
You gotta love your job!

Your quilt is looking so pretty with its borders on. Those bias makers are brilliant - I found that cutting the strip 1/8" larger than recommended and a good dose of starch helps. What a shame the magpie is staying away. The little stitchery at the end is lovely. xx

The sweet wallhanging/Quilt will look great soon when you've quilted it...
Hope your friend returns soon.
Lovely blocks and the blouse is pretty ... looks comfy.
I use my bias tool round the other way and put a pin at the end , then I can guide the fabric through the tool....

Looks like good progress on all your projects. Lovely work on the top. They look perfect for Summer.
The quilt will be done in no time.
Lovely stitching, too.
Wonder what happened to the magpie? Maybe a good thing if it is a bit wary. Others may not be as kind as you.

Doesn't the United Stitches quilt look great. So good to see it nearing completion. Your other stitching is coming along nicely too.

Great progress on many projects. Sorry about Magpie being shy. It will be back before the end of summer. I do have those gadgets for bias tape making and I'm still not an expert. It does take some practice. Lovely Bondi top. Love your stitches too. Enjoy the weekend. My intention is to sew, surprised? Lol. ;^)

The quilt looks great - glad it's at the top of the pile....Maybe if you go out and offer meat to Mr/Mrs Magpie it will come to you??
We have some that come to our front garden. DH feeds them mince with a special wild bird food powder.

That quilt is lovely and the red spotty fabric will look great as binding. Poor maggie! Clever you making a top for yourself. Love your stitchery. Hubby saw me stitching that block and actually remarked how nice it was. You are right...like a formal garden.
