Pooooofffff......

.. .. and the weekend has gone!!!!

Friday I spent preparing a quilt to be quilted .... and I did sew the latest Blockhead quilt block...  nice and easy and didn't take too long.... 6 1/2" and used up a bit more scraps.....

On Saturday we had a lovely couple come and visit us.....

Michelle and her lovely husband - who made the most wonderful focaccia to go with our lunch (sorry, I ate before I took a picture!!)

Besides a social visit Michelle was relieving us of some garden junk!  She had mentioned she was looking for a rusty wheelbarrow for putting a succulent garden..... well I had just the thing sitting at the back of our garden....

...not even necessary to make any drainage holes......  lovely old home made barrow top I think.... just a couple of old tin sheets bent onto a frame....

We did swap succulents too... we got some and she got some......

... and I got this gorgeous length of hedgie hoggy fabric - they are so adorable and I will look for a special pattern to make something with it....  thanks Michelle.... I loooovvveee it....

the sewing machines are tissues.... not that I think I could blow my nose on them but they will be a useful addition to a sewing kit... you just never know when a tissue is needed...

It was a lovely day of chat.. the two blokes went off and amused themselves at an airoplane museum thingy and we just talked... and might have had some chocolate....  it was 70% cocoa and as Michelle said cocao is a vegetable....  so we had our dose of veges...

Have you heard they are putting vegetables in coffee....

Yes the latest thing is a broccoli latte... the cafe is supposed to be helping us get our daily dose of vegetables..... I'm sure powdered green stuff is very healthy... with caffeine...  read about it HERE.  Anybody tried one?

Righto, Gotto Go... I will have a non-vegetable laced coffee and start work.... will be head down, bum up here for a while...

Brocolli coffee????? I have heard of beetroot latte so I guess there is a lot of experimenting going on. Wonderful for yiu to have a day with Michelle, the wheel barrow will have a new lease on life. Lovely fabrics, hedgehogs are the best! Good to see you both got your daily vege intake 😆😆

How lovely to spend time together.
No veg in coffee for me. Only the real thing will do!

We had a wonderful day! I am NOT responsible for all those choccies disappearing lol! Can't wait to plant out my wheelbarrow and my new succulent additions. Your block is looking great.

Love the block. Great idea for your old wheelbarrow, I love to trade things, it feels great when you haven't had to spend (although I love a shopping too!! Who doesn't). Toolkit tissues, just the thing for when you stitch your hand instead of the fabric. Have a great week, won't belong before the weekend ;)

Coffee is coffee and should never be tampered with! What a gorgeous wheelbarrow, it will make a lovely display for succulents......and sewing machine tissues and hedgie fabric, how cool is that. Yummo chocolates, did you leave me any?

I think I'll pass on the vegi/coffee "thing"!! If I'm that desperate to eat vegis I've really got a bigger problem!! I'll stick with melting butter and a pinch of salt topping the green (or other color) stuff!!
Awesome chat time! Always nice......and with chocolates--perfect! Luv the wheelbarrow. I'm sure it will be put to good use in the garden setting. Have an awesome Monday! Off to monthly quilt gathering later this afternoon...great way to start the week----and end the month (eek!!!!!!!! I see July comin' at me!!)

Pretty block and lovely to have a visit from Michelle. I have an old wheelbarrow around - maybe Michelle will inspire me to do something with it! xx

Darling hedgehog fabric! I've never seen that one before. And yes, chocolate is a veggie and the only one that should be added to coffee. OK, maybe vanilla, too. But broccoli?? Nope nope nope.

How lovely that you were able to donate the old barrow to Michelle. It is nearly identical to the one we have planted up - complete with holes in the bottom. It sounds like you had a great day together.
