FNWF....

It's been one of those weeks when I have been a bit reflective about my friends... both cyber and those I get to meet up with... some regularly ... some not so regularly....

Image result for friends are special

This week I used up the last of the scrappy strips to make a backing for my sampler...

I have a couple of reds to choose from for the binding.... I am leaning towards the one on the top right to bring out the reds .... (though in the picture there doesnt seem a big difference)

I am in another Spring/Easter postcard swap and so I made up this one.... which will be going to Puerto Rico....

The background is an old damaged doily which I cut the end off and appliqued a wool rabbit (designed by Michelle from her book Briarside Lane)

I'm pleased with how this has come out...

I did loads of little scribble quilting so it is like board.... hard to photograph but it took about an hour to do... this picture shows close up... you can't really see the fabric anymore...

Cheryll hosted FNWF this week... well ... she didn't really as she wasn't there at home but she still let us all gather together cyberly.....

It was one of those weeks I was lucky enough to be with friends in body as well....

For FNWF I went to sewing group at The Quilters Angel ... on the way there the full moon was on it's way up.... pretty evening...

I have started making some of Rosalie Quinlans Easter Bunnies... so I sewed faces and tummies... (there are a few faces without bodies too!)

There is other stitching I did but that's secret stuff..... so no peeks at all....

This afternoon I had an unexpected message from a friend who was in town... I hadn't seen her for about 25 years so we caught up... always rather fun to gather up some of those hidden memories...

Righto, Gotto Go.... I'm off to meet a whole bunch of bloggers at Lets Get Stitched in Brisbane tomorrow.... so many that I have been online friends with for ages and very much looking forward so meeting them and making some new memories .... I wonder how much sewing I will do??????

I like the top red too although the second one makes your hexi flowers pop. Either way it will look fantastic as is your newest postcard. So cute. Enjoy the company (you can always sew at home on your own lol).

Love how your sampler came out and that is a beautiful idea for the back.
I also love that bunny card, really fun piece and the bunnies you are making are adorable.
I was looking at simple ones last night so I can try some sock ones.

The full moon was fantastic here as well, but I didn't manage to get such a good photo. You are a lucky bunch, all getting together for fun, frolicking and maybe a bit of quilting. :) Love your postcard. I am in a spring postcard swap as well - probably the same one - and I have to make for the boss lady. Pressure is on!!

Seems to be lots of retreats and gatherings at this time of year, it is wonderful to be able to catch up with our blogging and sewing buddies. I made my first little bunny on Friday.........but I'm not as smart as you.....I waited until it was sewn together to do the face. I don't know why I didn't do it while it was flat!

Hello Fiona,

Your scrappy backing is beautiful. 25 years, lots of catching up to do there, hope you had a great day. Enjoy your day with the other ladies. Looks like the rabbits are doing what they do best and breeding, great projects you are working on.

Happy days.

Just popped over from Susan's blog (Thimblestitch) and she also has just finished a bunny, made me go looking for my pattern and have a go at making one or two of these for the gift box. Love your patchy backing you've done for your sampler, very pretty :) Barb.

I LOVE the backing for your sampler (and the red you are leaning towards for the binding) and the wool rabbit is just so cute! And those Easter bunnies make me want to make some exactly the same! That's the problem with your wonderful blog posts - I always want to run out and start making what you are making!!
