I made and sent off a couple of postcards lately
this is the little happy flower I made with those miniature dresdens and quilted the background
.. and this is some mini quilting I did on some 'old' doily pieces which I cut out ...
Sheila is doing another postcard swap ... a 'Fall' or Autumn theme (since she is from the Northern side of world) but you don't have to stick to that.....
A postcard is a lovely little 'mini' to make - I like to think of them as little pieces of fabric art....
Just pop over HERE and let her know you want to join in ... really, they are easy and fun .....
A friend Bobbi (who really aught to blog more often) sent me these cellophane packets... they are great to send the postcards in. I just get add a stamp to the fabric back where the address and note is written) and dear Mr Postie stamps it there and then and it is put in its celophane and sent off like a regular postcard but with extra protection. I add the AirMail stamp onto the cellophane.
... I have a fun Japanese fabric quilt I am making.... I showed the lattice in the last post and these are some of the big blocks (20 1/2")
Righto... Gotto Go....
Today we do the set up for the Creative Arts Display as part of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.... it's a lovely time of the year and I will be visiting the Toowoomba Quilters Quilt Show and the lovely Tea Pots display (the fact that they serve the most delicious Devonshire Tea has nothing to do with going there!) as well as the Creative Arts..... of course there are lots of gardens to visit and this weekend is also the Food and Wine festival... lots on if you are close enough to visit....
I hope I won't be too tired to stitch with you tonight at
