Can you see the mountains in the background?

~ there is a pronounced mountain..... further behind that - it's almost centre picture .... way back on the horizon

That's the Bunya Mountains

viewed from home

there will be beautiful views

wonderful rock formations

we may even be surprised by a handsome local

spot the last of the seeding native shrubs before winter

look at the tree tops in the forest

admire carpets of fern

knotted limbs

we'll stop for a picnic

and watch the red wallaby's snacking

afterwards we'll follow a stream

to pretty little tinkling waterfalls

observe the bark of the Bunya pine

admire the tallest of tall Bunya trees

admire miniature gardens in trees

"looks like when you tangle your knitting" says Him

I treasure the outings we have

even if seeing it all means going back up

It seems tree writing is not a modern idea

Eeeeeeek.......

The other night I stayed up late (stitching of course!!) and when I went off to shower a cold wet plop landed on me...............

I can only say I nearly wet myself..... now I love most little creatures - but not on my ready to shower 50something body in the middle of the night 

No good calling out for Tall Handsome... he can fix almost anything (today he fixed my telephone) but

.... he is scared of frogs ..... 

Shhh.... don't let him know I let the secret out

Having lept off me froggy chose my towel..... oh dear.... and after much leaping and giggling I got him in a little rubbish bin and off outside..... here he is ready for his leap to freedom....  I think he got a bigger fright than me with this experience!!!!

Only a 50somethingnakedbloggerwrapped inatoweloutsidethehouseat12.30midnight would rush off to get the camera..........

I needed a little drinkie afterwards I can tell you..... and a snack..... lucky I had done some baking....

I must've taken the picture after I had a few glasses the little drinkie....

Occasionally this beautiful chap comes by to our feeder. 

He is a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and about half a metre tall.....

 

We call him the 747 as he is much bigger than the other birds who visit us and everyone scatters when the big guy comes along..... (even the dog comes inside!)

Beautiful bird with a raucous cry...

Meanwhile I have at last done some quilting on my 'Bouquet's' wallhanging....

I am still a learner free motion quilter and use a fairly small domestic machine....

This is my first attempt using a contrast thread....

It was easier to do than Widgets quilt (which was stretch fabric and quite clumpy)

The back....(there are spaces as I didn't want to stitch over the stitchery designs..

I am improving but there's a way to go................
