sort of finishes

My farmyard stitcheries are all done now.....

I will add peepers around the edge and there will be pretty 4 patches in between them and finished with a border (or 2)

and my 'love' quilt top is finished.... look at green grass!!!!! woohoo the rain has been wonderful

.. all those half dresdens have been handsewn down.....

needleturn, EPP, embroidery and machine piecing..... and mostly in much loved Tilda fabrics

The pattern is from Natalie Bird's Make it Blue Book.....and it is 65" square

Another for the quilting queue.....

Our frangipani is looking glorious with these big bouquets of flowers all over it....

... and I have been making a mess with preparing the blocks for the Naive Melody quilt (in the background).  That will be my handsewing for a while now....

A couple of lovely quilts were put up on the walls.....

this is Holly Cottage designed by my lovely friend Michelle.... it's just gorgeous....

and last year I made up this one....

I have quite a lot of other lovely hangers but they are not going up this year...

This cute runner is out on the table though....

Wishing you all a very lovely Christmas however you spend it... I have to admit I am sore for my family in UK .... one child family can't go out as they have a young daughter in quarantine (close contact with someone who tested positive) another childs family can't go out as they live in Tier 4 area which is strict lockdown.  There are others who can get together but only for a short time... and outside in the winter cold!  It can't be easy trying to make Christmas magical for their children, and they are still my children to be heartsore about!

Things have changed here very quickly in some places and I know a lot of people have had to suddenly change their plans.... thinking of you all

Righto, Gotto Go..... I want to go shopping for peeper and border fabric!

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! I love all the cute stitcheries you have done and look forward to seeing the quilt take shape. Beautiful Christmas quilts . I still haven't made Michelle's quilt despite having the book since it was released. Love the red and grey combo of the other one. Your table runner is quite bright and cheery. Well done!

I understand about your family, Fiona......we don't know when, if ever, we will be able to see our Canaussian son and his partner again because by the time the world opens up we will be getting too old to travel that far. Your animal stitcheries arevery cute. Love the other quilts too, Make it Blue it very sweet.

Your stitcheries are cute and I do love your Love quilt! Gorgeous Christmas quilts a hanging and I covet your runner. Sadly the UK voted for a bumbling idiot so now they are getting last minute u turns when things could have been planned much better. Very sad for those who have followed the guidelines but sadly too many people followed 'governent guidelines' and rushed out to restaurants and shops to 'keep the economy going'! So angry about their useless handling of covid and brexit!!! Sorry, rant over. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and that we all have a happier new year. xx

Beautiful “Love” quilt. I have picked one from the Make it Blue book for next year....
Sweet stitcheries and they’ll make a lovely kids quilt.
Great Christmas quilts you’ve displayed and the fabrics in the table runner are some of my favourites.
Such a hard time for many , do hope things are better soon.
Hugs 🤗

Your Love quilt is simply stunning! What a gorgeous finish, and just in time for Christmas. I just adore how it turned out, Fiona. You are so talented picking colors and fabrics, and of course your stitcheries are so skilled. I want to be like you when I grow up!

Kids are so resilient; I'm sure your grands will still have a wonderful Christmas even with these temporary restrictions. The excitement of wondering what their gifts are, the pretty lights and ornaments, the special music...those things are always magical to children (and a bit to us oldies, I must admit :)

Merry Christmas to you and your family, my friend!

Your Farmyard stitcheries are sweet Fiona - but absolutely stunning is your Love quilt - it doesn't seem that long ago that you first started it. It has come up really well in the Tildas! It's nice to see your decorating quilts - my Holly Cottage Christmas is still up in the shop - I'm not sure when it will be coming home - sigh!! I hope your family managed a nice Christmas in spite of Covid and that the tests came back negative. I'm sure it still would have been a special day for them, if somewhat different.
