New Stuff....

One of the fun things at the beginning of the year is seeing new activities happening.... and of course I try and join in when I can because I just love a reason to sew!!

Narelle hosts a Christmas blog... I am going to try and sew one thing each month.....

starting with some ornaments....

… all the fabric is in the pack so I have no excuse to start these soon...

If you feel like joining in just message Narelle on THIS POST ….. make Christmas themed things or gifts for next Christmas

There is also OPAM hosted by Peg and Kris ….. counting up our finishes each month..... (look how well crafters who joined from all over the world did last year)

Kris has put a call out to see who wants to join in this year on THIS POST ….

It's really easy, just keep a tab on your sidebar of your finishes and email at the end of the month so all our finishes can be tallied up.  Personally I get a kick out of seeing a finish each month....

Helen hosts the No Fuss Stitchalong blog and last year we made up a lovely tag quilt.  This year is another gorgeous quilt with postcard stitcheries.....

This is a lovely no pressure stitchalong… do what you can when you can and post up pictures and encourage one another...

I have a collection of flannels I am going to use for it....

… and this weekend I plan to do a bit of tracing so I can make a start....

You can read more details about this one on THIS POST

Toni is hosting a free BOM starting next month....

Oh my gosh..... these look so cute I don't think I will be able to resist...

If you love applique, or want to learn, this is a great way to do it.  Toni's designs are always fun and her instructions easy to follow....

(I better stock up on Pink fabric)

Look at THIS POST and then follow her BLOG or FACEBOOK to keep up to date.....

I have already mentioned Jane's sampler on THIS POST here with all the links..... great way to do a sampler and pick up tips and tricks along the way...

FatCat Patterns has a couple of free BOM's too... they are very sweet though I am not sure I will be able to get to them..... but you might.  To have these free you do need to collect them each month.... if you miss one though you can always buy it from her.....  her patterns are very sweet.

The link is HERE, and there is a FACEBOOK page too.....

A new to me one is Quilt Doodle Designs.... and she has a Garden Sunshine BOM running …

I got into this one as she used 1930's style fabrics and I just happened to have some in my stash that needs using....

There is piecing and applique/embroidery.....

I am going to do the embroidery version.... and have one block done...

here is the link to her FACEBOOK page

So.... that is some of the things I have spotted on-line .... I am always so grateful to people who spend the time to host activities that make our online socialising fun …. and to those designers who generously share their knowledge and skills, often at no or minimal charge....

Thank you to you all....

Righto, Gotto Go....  tracing to be done.....

I am going to try and do at least one thing each month but also want to make large quilts, so I might need a few weeks a month, all year. I was going through my old fabrics, washing some to use and the rest will find a new home, lots of old ones from the 80's too.

Thanks for the shout out 1Xmas Fiona xx Gosh there is so much fun to be had.
Three cheers for online socialising ... best time had without leaving home (or even when you're away from home)
I've also been prepping for the postcard quilt and am ready to trace the first 4.

You’re going to be kept busy with all your new projects. They all look fun. It’s so good to have these projects offered to us. I’m just go to stick to Splendid Sampler an$ the RSC at this stage.

Those projects will keep you busy.....I will keep plodding along on some of mine, not taking on any new ones yet!

You found some lovely projects to keep yourself busy this year. Some looks like so much fun but I have to resist. I've set my goal this year to finish UFO and I can only start one new project per season. Sound reasonable, right? lol. Yes, I have already started a new project for Winter. Enjoy! ;^)

Oh my goodness. I'm not even going to look at any of those boms. Way to many things here to finish from other boms i took part in. :) Need to finish those things before adding more. :). I was going to do the no fuss stitchalong but decided a postcard quilt just isn't me. Love the ornaments, i made them a few year back & they don't take long to make.
