ChooseDay .....

I enjoyed catching up with the ChooseDay girls this week, and get on with a machine sewing project.

I did some more of my French General Granny Squares.....  they will join the others (and I still have a few more to do) then some sashing …

Lyn has started an embroidery business ….. and I got a gift from her …. she even made the sweet little tag...

This is the other Blockheads that I needed to do by hand..... blanket stitch applique around the edges...

… and I had a bunch of circles prepared... quite a few of them already sewn so I finished this bunch off...

My Design Wall....

Early in the school holidays Widget came and stayed with us for a few days..... he commented on the label on Hubz quilt... and said innocently " so the secret to making a quilt is love?".... so that is my new sign on the light.....  Sometimes little people can say such special things.

Sometimes they say stupid things too like "Nana, when you were little did you have a dinosaur as a pet?"

On our road trip my daughter introduced me to Podcasts... I had heard of them but never stopped to do the app and listen.  We started listening to this one which has been in our local news.  It's quite long so now instead of a book I have episodes... a tragic story which seems that it is only now being investigated properly.

I have a few new projects planned.... (of course)… this may be one of the most urgent ones.....

My Peg bag...… I wonder how long I have till those threads break....  it is so faded and mouldy now too....

Righto, Gotto Go... real job sewing work to do today... and maybe a bit of tracing.....

Yes, Widget. Yes, that is the secret! What a perceptive young man he is. And if you had known how to make quilts when you were young, you would have made one (with love of course!) for your dinosaur :)

I so love your kitchen towel. Very talented lady this Lyn. Wow!
So, I hear you had a dinosaur as a pet? What kind? I had a Miohippus named Babe. Lol. I love working with children. They are a treasure of wisdom and silliness all wrapped up behind an angel face. Precious! ;^)

From the mouths of babes. I love the Widget. I remember my mother being 40 and I thought she would die before she got me raised. Now I am 68 and going strong. How silly was I. You are so talented. I used to do machine embroidery but my basement flooded and ruined my machine so that was that. Keep smiling.

Love both your projects, love the idea of a granny square quit and a nice way to use up scraps too.
That is a beautiful gift, I have an embroidery machine and have never used the feature.

That's definitely the secret to a quilt.....well thought out, Widget! Fiona, perhaps it's time for a new peg bag? I'm sure you would have some suitable fabric tucked away.....

The granny squares are looking good together. And the circle colours are delightful, too. Good work on all your blocks and good luck the peg bag done in time.
Love the idea of your sign and the story behind it.
PS No dinosaurs in my childhood either!
