The colour Red.....

Red is our colour for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge....

This weekend I managed to make my fabric basket.....

and there's lots of scraps in there to make my little houses when I get a chance.....

... my bookshelf is beginning to fill up with the baskets.... I like....

I have been lucky this week...... this thread just had a tiny bit left when I was quilting ..... I had no more of this sparkley white so I was holding my breath... silly but I get a bit of a thrill when this happens!!! haha..

.. then my bobbin ran out just the right time..... I feel like I am living on the edge!!!!

haha.... don't you hate it when you sew a seam only to find the bobbin thread was finished????  I remember holding up a quilt to admire the borders I had sewn on and they fell to the floor!

This is what I was using the sparkley thread for... to make some water for this little card.... you can't see the delicate sparkle in the photo but it looks very nice...

Then I edged it with the satin stitch and that's where the bobbin lasted for me .... I just made it in time!

This card is going off to Wales.....

Righto, Gotto Go...... I'm ready for a coffee - then back to play/work .....

Oh! you were soooooo lucky with that thread! The opposite happened to me this week. I sew the backing's two long pieces together. When I looked at my work, I realized that only half an inch was sewn. No thread in the bobbin!! Arrghh!! Had to re-pin and all. :^(
Love your card. Gorgeous work! ;^)

Love your fabric baskets and love red, those will be fun to work with.
That is a beautiful dragonfly, love how the thread looks. I do hate when I run out, but my machine tells me before I do, so that helps.

I love your little baskets! What a wonderful way to store your scraps. If I had enough space, I would copy your idea. I haven't started on my red project yet. I better do that tomorrow.

Lol, I had the same thing happen to me yesterday, chain piecing blocks, and in my own little world! Picked them up, and they fluttered to the floor.....separately. Your card is gorgeous! And your red basket is perfect. XO

You made me snicker with the binding story! Good for you, and yup I can totally relate to feeling all smug when the bobbin/top threads last perfectly! Beautiful postcard!

Loving your baskets! I think I need to make some too because I need things to put things in here... :) That would have been too funny having the borders fall off... well, not at the time perhaps, but we can laugh afterwards! xx

Oh you daredevil Fiona... ha ha... but yes I do agree, it's very satisfying to see just a wisp of thread left on the reel, however the empty bobbin is no laughing matter!

Living on the edge alright!!! Now did you sew faster or slower as you were nearing the end? I always go slow hoping to make it last, but a friend always speeds up! The post card is beautiful, what a lovely background the plant pounding gives.
