I really feel I need to hold back time a bit! I know we all feel like that but it seems to be whizzing by at the moment....
I have some more blocks I have made....
These ones are from Dutch Treat and hand reverse applique.....
I am finding it very hard to create nice curves......
the sewn area of the block is 4" so they are pretty small.... I am not trimming at this stage...
They look really tidy and neat from a metre away!!!!
... and these are my latest Splendid Sampler blocks....
some machine applique
... some foundation piecing....
... and some EPP....
... these little 3/8" hexagons scared me so I had some help with them from a kind friend!! Thanks Christine.... (she is very good with teeny tiny things)
... and a pretty Camelia that we planted having it's first flower.....
I got out some Christmas fabrics to play with this upcoming weekend.... with luck I will have something besides blocks to show off! (off at a retreat)
Wishing you a lovely rest of the week whatever you are doing..... from a not very warm Queenslander...
I love this time of year because it's when those hot casseroles and soups are so yummy... I have a steak and kidney cooking up to make a pie for tonight. An old fashioned dish but one my mum used to make so well and I love it!

You've been very productive again. I particularly like the apple block. Very effective.
Time might be whizzing by but you're certainly putting it to good use. Those reverse applique blocks look challenging! I make old fashioned steak and kidney pie for my family too, perfect for this cold weather.
Your small little blocks look pretty good and rounded to me Fiona and your SS blocks are so pretty
Hi Fiona ,boy your blocks are amazing ,I love seeing what you get up too,you always do such amazing work ,well done my friend ....
It's not very warm here either......been snowing again just an hour away! Love your teeny blocks, they are very pretty - and Splendid Sampler is coming along beautifully.
Loving your Dutch treat blocks, the curves look great, but challenging.
Little Hexie flowers are so cute.
Sharing the cold weather with you, we have heaps of rain down here too.
Makes for great seeing time.
Oops meant sewing time!
I agree that time fly's way to fast, but there is nothing we can do to slow it down. Your blocks look good to me. That's a lot of work in a small space, and as you go you will see improvements in your work I am sure. I am sew far behind on the sampler blocks but I keep printing them off sew that when I get a chance I can sew up a couple ...... have a great week too..... in stitches
You are sewing up a storm. Those blocks look so challenging. All of them. The foundation block is WAAAYYYY too complicated for me. Glad I didn't get on that wagon. Love the EPP with the fussy cut dot in each middles. Gorgeous!! I understand why making curves on reverse applique is not an easy task. You need to keep two fabrics together while hand sewing the top one to the second one? Do you baste or pin? I might try that one day... might! lol. I think you are too harsh on yourself. Your DT blocks are gorgeous. ;^)
Yes time is flying by far too fast but you sure have done lots of great blocks...
Those DT blocks would be sew fiddley , you're doing really well.
Great SS blocks. Well done doing the PP ones. I'm over them...
Have a fabulous retreat.. You going with Kris?
Beautiful blocks! I'm a little intimidated to have you for my Postcard Partner.....
Very pretty blocks, so productive. I agree about the time flying, I´m still doing the beaded flowers and the wedding is fast approaching xcx
You have made a lot of beautiful blocks and such beautiful work on them.
For me it is the opposite, time to eat cold foods, way too hot to even go outside.
Debbie
Those tiny reverse applique blocks look very tricky and very perfect from where I sit! So glad your lovely camellia is flowering, they are my favorite winter flower.
All your blocks are looking great - the reverse applique is gorgeous!! SS is turning into a good way to try some different techniques. Have fun on your retreat. (I'm with you too, love those winter soups and slow cooked meals!)
Love your Dutch treat blocks Fiona, it certainly is a challenge. Also your sampler blocks are looking great.
Love your blocks for both projects. Have fun at retreat. Hugs,xx
Your reverse applique blocks are looking fantastic, as are your SS blocks.....time seems to be a problem for many of us!!! Enjoy your retreat this weekend. That is a beautiful flower. Soups and casseroles are the go here too.
Your DT blocks are amazing and SS is looking great too! Is it wrong I want warm weather again! A big fan of warm soups and casseroles though. Enjoy retreat xx
There are some fiddly bits in that apple block! You've been busy
Ooh hon your blocks are just gorgeous, you're really coming along on that Dutch Treat! Finding it hard to believe you're having flowers in winter, such a pretty one too.
Your blocks look great Fiona.
I'm with you there Fiona....time just races by! My you have been very busy with blocks....enjoy the weekend!
I admire your patience sewing those Dutch Treat blocks. They look great. Lovely SS blocks.
Lovely work on all these blocks.
As for slowing down time - no help from me!!
All of your blocks are lovely, but I'm quite smitten with the reverse Applique!
Your reverse applique looks great Fiona! I tried one block a few years ago and actually enjoyed it more than the other needle turn applique...your other blocks are lovely too xxx
