.... and it's 2014...

...wishing everyone ....

I hope the next year brings you loads of fun and laughs and happy moments.....

Hubz and I have been having a lovely quiet break together....

... there was some golf (well... I drove the cart and he chased a silly little ball)

.... .we did some tourist stuff... this is the floodgate at Wivenhoe Dam, which is partly where the water came from which flooded Brisbane a couple of years ago....

New Years Eve we stayed at friends and went to listen to 'Thirsty Merc' at the beach and watch the fireworks....

... I also had some paddles....

... and walks on the beach watching the sun go down....

the last couple of days have been revoltingly hot.... I have sewn up this little kokeshi doll.....

(not sure what marker I used but it was the wrong one and has bled and not disappeared... she will stay at my house....) My first UFO finish for 2014!

This was a freebie from Melly and Me - I can't find a link to it on her blog but it is HERE  ...

I have had these hot pot mats appliqued for ages.... finished too late for Christmas but they will go in the box for next year....

Righto, Gotto Go.... today is expected to be revoltingly hot again.... tracing a new project and some hand sewing I think... and make my lists.... projects, ufo's, birthdays etc etc...

A great time of year for a little getaway. Now stay indoors to keep cool, and I'll stay indoors to keep warm..And stitch!

It looks like you have had a lovely time welcoming in the New Year. It is good to kick back and relax.
Good to see some finishes already. Lovely embroidery on the doll and great hot pads.

Funny when it is hot, we complain and for us it is freezing and I wish it were hot, lol. Looks like you are enjoying the great weather though.

Looks like a perfect short break (except the little white ball part). How great to spend NYE on the beach. Your little doll is sweet, so frustrating when the marker runs. Keep cool.

Beautiful colors in the flimsy and I like the doll, couldn't see any markings in the photo....
I don't like hot weather but I don't like this cold we're having either. Luckily for me, I don't have to get out in it.
