November FNSI

It was great to be back to join in with so many of you on FNSI hosted by Heidi this month..... thanks Heidi

I had done most of the work for this lovely little set before I left for my holiday
(a swap gift from Deb earlier in the year)

those stitcheries are 1 1/2" by 2"... so it is a really sweet set ...... I really just needed to finish it all off (and we all know how good it is to finish a project before starting another????)

I sat in the evening and sewed a bit more of this lovely little Gail Pan Christmas stitchery...... I am using Cottage Garden threads which I prewashed... since I had an unfortunate incident with thread bleeding previously..... I love the colours they have and the subtle variegation - but bleeding red is not a good look!

My body clock is out of order.... yesterday I woke at 4am and today it was 3.30am..... I am not amused!
Anyway being up early this morning I knew some Northern hemisphere FNSI'ers would be on the go so I joined in with them... and started cutting and preparing some fabrics to make Christmas bonbons.....

I didn't make myself snacks... even though desserts are my favouritist meal in the whole world
(I bet you never knew that!)

.... not only have my jeans shrunk with the English water but I found that something got into my wardrobe at home and shrunk the lot!!!

So no desserts!  sigh... no sleep, no dessert...... lucky I still have some fabric!

Righto, Gotto Go.... I'm cutting out the wadding for my bon-bons....

You are starting your day and I am just finishing mine :-) and I know what you mean about the water, it's the same all over Europe..funny that. I've been trying to finish up some UFOs before I start anything else...it's not as much fun though LOL. Hugs x

Lovely finishes and prep work for your bonbons. How did you wash your threads Fiona as I have just bought some red to use in a Rosalie Quinlan design? I'd hate to do all that work and have the red run. Hugs......

Gosh that's committment to the cause, doing the Aussie FNSI & then getting up to do the Northern one too. I love those little stitcheries & your bob-bons will be gorgeous. If you have to be awake, making such treats make it worthwhile. No desserts..... hmmmm... good luck! Tracee xx

Did you know that English water does not just take away from your clothes? Well it has to go somewhere!

Cute mini stitching - but I did some of that this week too. At least they are done quick.

Enjoy those BonBons, not so much those early mornings.

So annoying when you have done all that walking to find that your clothes have shrunk. I wish you could burn calories from keeping the pedal to the metal on the sewing machine...I would be Twiggy then!
Love the look of the bon bons, is this a commercial pattern we can buy? Always fancied making my own, but not into papercrafts, however fabric I can do!

Ah hah, now I know what happened to my pants while in England, I thought there was a reason they all shrunk! Lovely stitching you have done :)

I didn't have to go overseas for that to happen lol. I have however achieved those few winter kilos just by not eating chocolate (sigh) and cakes. Wish I didn't have to cook them for everyone else too. Plus the doogie loves walking lol.

Great stitching too and I love those cute little stitcheries. I am embarking on some major stitching so might need to have a few little things drawn up to play with too.

Hello Fiona,

I do hope that your bod gets back into order soon. Such cute little stitcheries. Thread running is not what you want to happen after spending a fair amount of time stitching.

happy days.

I hope you get the body back to normal clock very soon, and as for the Clothes Shrinking, well mine have too & I didn't even travel, LOL
mrHS gets back from the US on Wed, so I will have to bear with his wacky-body-clock for a few days

You do lovely embroidery work! Isn't Friday Night Sew In a great idea so we get these projects completed?!
I hope your wardrobe will soon get back to normal, but mine will be shrinking with all these winter holidays coming up here in the U.S.!
Best regards :)
