I love this quick and easy technique. I hope to try it soon. P.S. I have family in WA (Perth) and I have a special place in my heart for Aussie bloggers. LOL

How fabulous- congratulations! I am going to head home from work and sit down to read your post in the comfort of my own home! That's why the post wouldn't load earlier!!!! It was us Aussies getting in early! LOL!

Thank you for the excellent tutorial. It is so clear even I may attempt it. I also have a lot of defectively sized jeans waiting to be transformed into something useful.

Well congratulations - heading over now!

I read through again and now I have "IT" . Now if you don't know what I am talking about you have to go -- over and read the first comment first and the second second. See how easy it is to confuse one ???? However your tutorials when read succintly are just perfect.

I'm going to have to try this technique. I have deconstructed several pairs of jeans and this would be a great way to use them.

It was great to see you over at Stash Manicure. Your tutorial was lots of fun. Hope the roast chook was tasty!! Love the view out your window!!

That was brilliant Fiona, not only good food served, but a wonderful tutorial as well. Funny you saying how jeans shrink...I have about FIVE pairs that have shrunk! ;-)

Love the hot pot mat, think it would look great with blue, or red - yes red for hot!

Great tutorial , you have a gift for words . This is a really cute idea for jeans ,I made a baby quilt years ago in this method but your tutorial is much better than how I had to make it.Thanks and I just may have to make one with jeans.

Fiona - I used the technique I learned from you last time you were on Stash Manicure to make a Kindle cover. It was so much fun! Thank you for sharing, and thanks for the detail (and fun) you put into your posts.

Love your blog, and your tutorial over at Stash....I wouldn't care what color you put with the jeans to make a hotmat! I would just be thrilled to get one! Then I can see, up close and personal, and make some more! LOL
(Have you noticed, also, that they don't size the jeans correctly any more? Wink!)

I love this technique and plan to try it soon. (I have to do some drudge mending first.) My kitchen has red accents and would love a hot mat with reds.
