Middle of April

This week another 5 blocks to Wensleydale/Tuesleydale were done....

And finally after 11 years Sylvia's Bridal Sampler has been bound....

It has a fun backing too as I had used left over fabrics to make up blocks

With pieced front and back it is quite a heavy quilt

Made from this book - I do love a sampler quilt

Jack's beanie is completed, and now I have started another for younger brother....

I joined one block of curved blocks - I think it's going to work!

Crochet blanket has a few more rows and I will keep working at it, and some other handwork over the next few weeks whilst we stay in Brisbane to support my daughter through her surgery.

A few people have asked so just a short update, google will help if you do want more info....it's certainly been a time of learning for me.

She has Jelly Belly/Appendix Cancer or Pseudomyxoma Peritonei and will by having it removed, scraped and take out any non vital organs, HIPEC chemotherapy and a long recovery.  We have decided to stay in the city and be close by for the first few weeks then of course assist at home as much as we can.

As such there'll be a bit of a blog break since I'm not likely to have much to show but I will be having my morning blog reading as often as possible.

Keep crafting, keep happy and keep blogging..... xx

Gosh Fiona, Sylvias bridal sampler is absolutely beautiful!!! You must be so chuffed to have it finished, it looks stunning.
I am so sorry to read of the journey that your daughter (& you all) have ahead of you & hope & pray for a positive outcome & that the treatment she faces is successful. Its all we can ask for I guess. I think its a wise decision to stay close & definitely take lots of handwork with you Fiona. Take care all of you. x0x

Sending prayers and good, positive energy to your precious daughter and all of her family for supporting her. I love your Sylvia's Bridal Sampler. At first I thought you had finished 2 quilts. The back is as lovely as the front is. This one is a masterpiece. Bravo! ;^)

I can't imagine the work you put into your quilts, I know I do not have that much patience. Those are fun colors in the hat, a nice way to relax in between quilting.

Sylvia's Bridal Sampler is absolutely fantastic... what a beautiful quilt! It's a work of art in itself; no wonder it took so much time.
Keep crafting and staying happy, keep blogging and soaking up joy... all my best wishes and warmest regards.

P.S. The block with the circles is so lovely too... keep it up!

I’ve just been catching up with your latest blog posts. Wensleydale is looking fabulous. Yes, you did well with the stripes. It’s nice that a crochet rug has been requested. Sylvia’s Bridal Sampler is stunning. It must feel good to finally have it completed. I hope all goes well with your daughter.
