Thanks to Wendy for hosting FNSI ..... even though I usually sew on Friday night getting together (virtually) with friends and working on specific projects does make a fun difference to me....
I did work on a bit of my own quilting in the morning ....
flower type design on this small quilt....
it's about 20 x 24" so just little and didn't take long at all....
I do like the texture.... this little quilts was made from leftover scraps of another quilt I made using this range.
A good friend visited earlier this year and remarked she loved the quilts so I got her to choose a top she liked and promised to finish it off....
this top was made from the scrap bin... I had been given a large pile of red pieces already cut (I think 4.5 x 2" or something like that....
Its all quilted in a sort of wood grain style (since he works in wood)
This one took most of the day and I enjoyed listening to The Survivors by Jane Harper (author of The Dry which was made into a movie starring Eric Bana), whilst doing the quilting.
In the evening I sat down with some hand work and finished the grapes on this block.
Block 4 of Civil War Bride
Here is an update of all the blocks together..... so enjoying this project ...
I didn't have many grapes to do before it was finished so I stitched down the binding on this quilt, which has been languishing in the cupboard for a long while.....
I quilted it some time ago.... orange peels in the plain blocks and left the alphabet ones empty... keeps the quilt quite soft..
Today is a new day and I will sew on the bindings to the two quilts I quilted, and then hopefully work on the borders for my Schoolgirl Sampler....
Big floods in NSW coastal areas... thinking of you and hope everyone will be safe....
