Another week.....

The Pineapple blocks got the better of me.... I love having a project that I can just work on a bit every now and then ... but it often gets to the stage where I just want it finished...

Beautiful weather outdoors saw me sewing with my little Elna amongst the birds and butterflies...

I am really pleased with how this has worked out....  my teal, pink and purple scrap baskets are empty now too...

I have followed Cindy Needham for years and purchased some of her stencils and handouts....  much to my embarrassment I haven't used them much...

During shutdown as Cindy has had to cancel a lot of her classes she is doing quite a bit via video on her facebook page ..... I am really enjoying it.

Part of what she has offered was sending in quilts for her to suggest ideas on how to quilt.  I know I often find that the hardest part.  Anyway I sent in a picture of this one as soon as I had finished it and luckily got in (she has closed this segment for now as so many pictures of quilts came in).  My plan is to take up her suggestion as a challenge....

In the meantime it has gone to the Quilting Queue....

Hand stitching the last few nights has been this little stitchery ....

... and I continue with making some crochet blocks... I have found this a good project for doing during video chats (isolation style socialising) as I don't have to look at it all the time....

It's been lovely having more chats to my grandchildren as they are not rushing around off to school... all of them that are in school are being tutored from home of course... sometimes a chat with Nana just helps mum or dad get a load of washing on etc.... and I love it!

I have ordered them all books to try and cheer them up... I think it must be so hard for youngsters to have to be staying at home all the time.  By the end of this they will be excited to go to school!

Righto, Gotto Go..... a few more leftover fabrics to play with then I need to get serious about some quilting jobs next week....

Keep safe....

Absolutely love your Pineapple quilt. I'm not a pink girl at all but this is so pretty and Spring like that I love it. It is so generous of Cindy to offer free advise on quilting patterns. She must have been swamped with requests in no time at all. Happy to hear that you got in before the door close. You must have quite a pile of tops to quilt now. Have you counted? I predict a lot of finished quilts in your near future. ;^)
P.S. It is nice here today, enough for me to go sew outside. Yay! ♥

I love your Pineapple quilt - the colour combo is so fresh and pretty! Hehe I hear what you're saying with a project getting the better of you and just demanding to be sewn! I look forward to seeing what ideas Cindy has come up with for your quilt. The stitchery is delightful. And fabulous that you get to spend more time cyber chatting with the kiddies ♥

Wow! Your pineapple top looks stunning.
It's good to have various projects on the go, like you I love my crochet for the fact it is pretty mindless and my hands can be busy with that, while my mind is elsewhere.

You have created a beautiful quilt Fiona, looking forward to seeing how you quilt it. Your stitchery is pretty and it is wonderful you can have chats via the internet with the grand children, they must be finding it very hard being so restricted.

That is a beautiful quilt and a lot of piecing. I need patience before I tackle a project like that.
Another wonderful stitchery, I enjoy doing those at night to get a break from regular sewing.

Your pineapples look amazing. I also feel sorry for the school aged children. It is always nice to have some hand work - be it sewing, knitting or crocheting to pick up and put down.

The Pineapple quilt is amazing and such lovely colors! I know what you mean about having a project "get to you"....I started a disappearing 9 patch that is starting to get to that point....lol...AND...Aren't grandchildren wonderful? I had a nice chat and game night a couple of nights ago through Zoom with mine and even played some family games.....
