Plans Change.....

After a bit of a new bush drive for me I collected young Widget from his camp on Thursday afternoon..... he had a great time....

In the evening, after some fish 'n chips I sat down with my crochet ….  starting to look like a pattern and I am loving these colours together....

… and we watched this movie together which I had booked out of the library  … we all enjoyed it

Widget ended up being picked up on Friday lunch time.... his Mum ended up not having to work …. so I had to find things to entertain myself!

Found myself in my sewing room so I put up all my mouse stitcheries....

… then went and had a dig in drawers and found what I will use to make blocks to finish this quilt off

… some pretty Tilda fabrics … I will add some more of the blue grey

I finished off some quilting I had in the machine.... I do love feathers done in this flowy pattern around the border … and also those pink swirls look really effective and add a great texture

Friday night and obligatory sports on TV so I like to sit and play....

Winter is coming.... and I need some new winter flannel pyjamas….. (in my house they don't just need to be pyjamas for night time.... you can wear them all day if you like …. and I do like)

I have some old winter sheets... pretty but not used as sheets and I have kept them in my 'stash' for ages not sure what to do....

These ones were cut up, a new pattern for PJ pants and the bondi top I have made before …. I need some elastic so I will just have to go shopping!  These are my practice ones to see if the pattern is right - but I can still wear them

… I also have this flannel sheet.... much softer and better quality so once I have tried the others for a good fit I will make it up too.....

Friday Night was

hosted by Wendy … thank you ....

I've been wanting to try Sashiko for ages and some lovely grey ready printed Sashiko panels arrived at The Quilters Angel..... it looks more browny in this picture but it is a beautiful grey …. matched up with a bright pink thread and I started playing.....

.. and now we have a few more days of peace and quiet... Hubz has
  • a model to paint and glue,
  • a shed to clean up,
  • a birdbath to fix,
  • a shadecloth to install,
  • leaf catchers to buy and put on the down pipes,

Haha... there is always a running list of jobs for him!

I want to sew down my dresden plates block.... and buy some elastic for pyjama pants....

 Righto, Gotto Go....

You are going to have the most glamourous PJs up on the hill....I bet you could cope with a strip of thread instead of elastic for the time being . . .

Never takes long to find a sewing activity to fill an empty time slot. Pity he had to go early but not a waste of time for you.
Smart way to use up those old sheets. Hope they are comfy.

Hubby is not the only one with a long list of things to do; you do too. I love flannel pyjamas too; can't stand nightgowns. Looking forward to see what that bundle of beautiful fabric will become. Enjoy! ;^)

Great start to the ripple blanket ... looks like it was a lovely movie for all to enjoy.
There is always something to play with in the sewing room when you get some unexpected free time.
Lovely quilting and your 🐭 🐭 🐭🐭 will look sweet sashed with your pretty fabrics.
You'll have some very PJs to wear all day from those flannel sheets....
Enjoy the rest of the weekend...

Your feathers are fantastic! Which method did you use - bump back or? I’m trying to learn feathers and have a long way to go!

Happy Easter Fiona. The crochet is looking very pretty and I love the quilting. The sashiko looks fun- I have got as far as buying a piece of fabric! One day I will do some stitching on it. xx

Your crochet is coming along nicely and indeed does look like a pattern of stitches, the colors are lovely. You are going to have the prettiest Pj's look forward to seeing them all put together. Just love the mice stitcheries. Happy Easter

What pretty flannel fabrics! Those will make great PJs for you. If your DH is like mine, he'll grumble a little bit about his to-do list, but then you'll catch him happily whistling as he gets things done! Right now, mine is under the helm fixing things that broke after we were hit by lightning a few days ago.

What a good idea to repurpose those sheets into jammies..love your mouse stitcheries, I've had that pattern for years and years and years waiting for one day (after I saw the quilt at a quilt show I had to have it), you've inspired me to dig it out of pattern storage.

It sounds like you were going to have a very busy weekend. I can't wait to see your mice turn into a hanging. I do like your little Easter vignette.

Your time with Widget was cut short but you managed to keep yourself very busy.
