Thank you so much Cheryll for hosting FNWF last night.....
A cold damp day over this way yesterday ... perfect for stitching with friends and I was lucky enough to be spending the morning over at The Quilters Angel with a couple of friends... including Kris ... a great time to catch up .. and maybe a touch of retail therapy????
I handed over this lovely quilt top I made for them...
It's called Mystical Mountains and is the exact fabrics in the pattern.... they are just gorgeous in quality and design... I thought it was like jewels .... you can see it laying on my queen size bed that it is a great size too..... kits are soon to be available at The Quilters Angel...
... are you a kit person or a make up your own person? I'm a bit of both....
I continued working on my Christmas Stitcheries for my star swag and carried on with them in the evening.... there's a lot of stitching in these little pretties....
I found just the right fabric to make the background stars.. the backing will be the green which will just show on the edges of the stars....
... this collection called "Hello World" just grabbed my heart and squeezed it.... and then jumped into my bag.... just like that....
I simply adore the quirkiness of the designs and the mix of colours... just large squares for this quilt...
(so much for only buying fabric to finish off projects)
On the machine this week I have been doing some applique... I rather like this bright pink and chocolate brown mix..
Righto, Gotto Go.... there is left over cake from yesterday.... time for a cuppa.... the sun has come out and it's a stunning day ....

Fabulous huge quilt top.. I usually use my own fabrics but like to use kits as well.
Your Christmas stitchery is coming along beautifully.
That fabric is tricky stuff! The quilt you made is beautiful. Lovely stitcheries too.
Sometimes I find fabric in my bag when I get home and have no idea whatsoever how it came to be there! Mystical Mountains is rather gorgeous, what is the fabric range?
MMmmmm I have fabric like that too that just jumps right into my bag while I'm not looking. Love the quilts and Christmas stitcheries you got quite a bit done :) Barb.
Fiona, that quilt top is just amazing and really looks like jewels sparkling. The stitcheries are lovely and I like the fabric you have chosen to frame them.

A beautiful quilt. I love making quilts in the original fabrics. Sometimes choosing the fabric is fun too.
A bit of both I think...I love your quilt and stitching...
Lovely projects Fiona and a girl has to do retail therapy when she can.

Not much of a kit person at all - only done one I think - and I changed the border fabric! Picking the colours / fabric is the fun part!

very pretty new stash, can't wait to see what they will become.
Jumping fabric seems to be like a virus to quilters as colds are to people....As a quilter I must admit that is one I don't mind catching.
As for that quilt top....just stunning!
Fabric jumped into my bag this weekend too...must be something going around...lol
Lovely enjoyable post Fiona!

Stunning quilt Fiona. WOW! Love your stitchery too. I am not a kit person; I much prefer to get inspired by other people's work and then add/remove something to make it personal.

Glad I'm not the only one that gets assailed by jumping fabric... funny how that only happens after a 'no buy' commitment is made, ha!!

When I saw the first picture, I thought that it was lovely, but too busy for me. Then I scrolled down to the second picture of it spread out on your bed, and fell in love!! Cute little embroideries! I just finished the piece I was working on. Time to set up a new stitchery project!
