It's too quiet around here.....

It has been such a lovely couple of months with rellies..... and I am back from my blogging break...

taken at Australia Zoo

The last couple of weeks was a special treat..... all of my four children were here with us - first time in 5 years

My eldest daughter was flown out by my son as a surprise - she had to leave her partner and 3 children so it was very special to have her and also my son and partner joined us from Cairns, and there is a daughter who lives nearby
~ there are no words to describe what a lovely time was had ~
~ or words to describe how empty the house feels now ~

I did have a birthday in February and the girls took me out for breakfast......

Can you believe I had to wait to open presents?

My DIL is a member of the present police and as soon as a card or parcel arrived she took them and hid them.....
this year for the first time in aaaaggggeeesss I opened present ON my birthday!
(which was fun I have to agree!)

Marina sent me a hexie purse... I have so admired hers and lusted after them .....
here it is with the lovely fabric wrapping and a special gumnut keyring....

It is just awesome and look at the detail... a little 'F' and thimble in those miniature hexies....

Michelle also sent me a wonderful personalised gift - look at this awesome journal.... and her new set of alphabet patterns... which I was lusting after too!!!

Marina and Michelle are both stitching friends who I met through blogland.... and have been lucky enough to meet in person too..... thanks for my lovely gifts you two naughty friends

There are so many fun pictures we have and we seemed to have done lots..... I'm sure some will surface as I go through it all, and I did manage an incy wincy bit of hand sewing.....

Righto, Gotto Go...... a beautiful, sunny Queensland day.... after rain, rain, rain whilst we had overseas rellies to stay!!!! .....

What a very special time for you all. Your family photo is gorgeous. I am sure you must be really feeling it now the house is empty. We were not very hospitable weather wise that's for sure. I am so glad you had a great birthday. I have missed you :-)

You had a great time despite the weather - but what a shame for the visitors - not such a bad idea to keep all your mailed gifts til the special day. Enjoy the peace & quiet.

It is so wonderful to have all your family together. And a birthday celebration, lovely gifts from sweet friends. You've been spoiled, Fiona! Isn't it fun? Now, you just need to dive into a grand, noisy project to get rid of that "too quiet" feeling!
