Safari Snaps and some progress snaps too

I made this quilt top in 2018 using a panel of squares which I sliced and added sashing

Over Christmas time I quilted and bound it ..... (and then forgot I had done it)

I was going for a seedpod type quilting... but it looks more like wind through the savanna so we'll stick to that!

It's a rather fun boy quilt

This week on machine sewing day with friends I worked on my Stars

Actually I did a lot of unpicking - and chatting.... and tea drinking...

There is a good pile of little HST's cut off the ends of the stars to play with one day....

Another hand sewing day and I am focussed both day and night with getting the last few 'sweets' done on the blackwork.....

For such tiny little bits I am consistently surprised how long they take to do....

The birdhouse tags are all done now.... 27 in total....  these were a lot of fun to do and really not too hard at all... very sweet little stitcheries...

Righto, Gotto Go.... the handiman has come in from a tip run and needs lunch.... then it appears he needs a bookshelf in his office so that needs fetching but he needs an extra labourer for that one....

.... at some stage I will finish off those stars.....

Be Safe, Be Well, Be Happy....

  1. Great finish on the quilt Fiona - I love the movement of the quilting. The blackwork is looking gorgeous, but yes, it foes take time! In this houe it's me that makes up the flat pakcs with the occasional help of a labourer! xx xx

  11. Those sweets are certainly eye candy. The birdhouse tags are just gorgeous. We have to wear many hats at times....helper, feeder, mover and many others as and when required.
