Thank you Cheryll for hosting FNWF... and lovely company as always.... the lemon pie went down well!
I carried on working on my little tags (February Embroidery project)
All the embroidery is done (I didn't do the larger pieces) and I am now blanket stitching around the edges and adding ribbon.....
As you can see I still have a few more to do... then this project is a finish....
My EPP half hexagons (Inner City) has been neglected, basically because I was procrastinating as I have run out of fabric to cut up. I don't want to add new fabrics at this stage as they would all be gathered in one area.
Soooooo.... I am going to remove two strips down one side and add those to the bottom - and fill in with the pieces I have left... it will be narrower but longer. any extra size I need can be done with borders.
Have a good weekend.... lovely sunny days lately and after all the rain the grass is growing madly..... my gardener is out there mowing and planting. I better be supportive and provide some tea before going in the sewing room with the quick unpick and do the dirty to my hard work.... sigh
Popping over to Cheryll's place first and visiting the others who sewed last night.....
Have a lovely weekend.....
Your half hexies look good.
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona omg you make such beautiful projects ,you are very clever and very inspiring tackling different projects, well done on your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLol glad you looked after your gardener/Dave ,hope you have a wonderful weekend 💕
Love the birdhouses, they are so cute. Shame you have to change your half hexies around. They do look lovely, love the colours. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteWell done with the birdhouses...you did pretty well doing them in little moe than a month! A shame to unoick your stitching but it sounds like a plan that will work.
ReplyDeleteFiona I love your projects. I never thought of embroidering tags what a neat idea. I just finished 12 baby quilt blocks and now I have a callous on my finger tips. Couldn't find my thimble.
ReplyDeleteCats.
Sweet birdhouse tags..
ReplyDeleteSo annoying when we run out of fabrics..
The tags are just gorgeous. We have to keep on the good side of the "gardener".
ReplyDeleteThat's a great project. It's so disciplined of you to not just go buy more fabric. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the birdhouses.....yes, having to unpick is....sigh.....
ReplyDeleteJust adore those tags Fiona. I am pleased to read you have some sunshine again after all your rains.
ReplyDeleteYou are making great progress on both projects Fiona.

ReplyDeleteThe tags are so cute and you are making great progress with them. Love your half hexie project....beautiful! The lawn seems to grow up behind you as you mow with this crazy weather...Tea and cake would definitely be supportive lol!
ReplyDeleteOh love those tags, great idea with the English paper piecing adding extra borders.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job with all those tags! Shame about the unpicking, you will be pleased when it is done. xx
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the unpicking. I know it's a daunting task but you will be happier with the end result so it's worth it. The end is near for the embroidery project. They are so lovely. Great job! ;^)
ReplyDeleteThe tags look amazing with the cute little bird houses .... what a shame to run out of the fabrics but your plan sounds like a good one .
ReplyDeleteOh, darn about the half hexies - unpicking them can be "tedious". The tags are so pretty - it was a great idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous little tags, so pretty. Your quilt looks super complicated, makes the eyes go fuzzy lol such a shame you have to unpick such hard work. xcx
ReplyDeleteI like your little tags, so sweet :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have done so well with your tags....having to unpick your half hexcies is unfortunate, good luck.
