Red is our colour for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge....
This weekend I managed to make my fabric basket.....
and there's lots of scraps in there to make my little houses when I get a chance.....
... my bookshelf is beginning to fill up with the baskets.... I like....
I have been lucky this week...... this thread just had a tiny bit left when I was quilting ..... I had no more of this sparkley white so I was holding my breath... silly but I get a bit of a thrill when this happens!!! haha..
.. then my bobbin ran out just the right time..... I feel like I am living on the edge!!!!
haha.... don't you hate it when you sew a seam only to find the bobbin thread was finished???? I remember holding up a quilt to admire the borders I had sewn on and they fell to the floor!
This is what I was using the sparkley thread for... to make some water for this little card.... you can't see the delicate sparkle in the photo but it looks very nice...
Then I edged it with the satin stitch and that's where the bobbin lasted for me .... I just made it in time!
This card is going off to Wales.....
Righto, Gotto Go...... I'm ready for a coffee - then back to play/work .....

Oh! you were soooooo lucky with that thread! The opposite happened to me this week. I sew the backing's two long pieces together. When I looked at my work, I realized that only half an inch was sewn. No thread in the bobbin!! Arrghh!! Had to re-pin and all. :^(
Love your card. Gorgeous work! ;^)
Your RED scrap basket looks GREAT with your growing collection!!
Love your fabric baskets and love red, those will be fun to work with.
That is a beautiful dragonfly, love how the thread looks. I do hate when I run out, but my machine tells me before I do, so that helps.

Loving all your coloured baskets Fiona......
LOL 😂 Love the tale of your binding, how lucky were you the thread in the top and bottom lasted to the end.
What a pretty postcard.. lucky recipeant....
I love your little baskets! What a wonderful way to store your scraps. If I had enough space, I would copy your idea. I haven't started on my red project yet. I better do that tomorrow.
Your baskets are looking great together on the shelf Fiona. Gosh that was lucky with the thred - manys the time I have got to the end of a long seam and found it fell apart. Your postcard looks beautiful - is it for a swap? xx
Gorgeous red basket!! Great to see the collection growing.
The card has ended up looking great. And well done with the thread and bobbin lasting. Sometimes things do go right!

You thrill seeker you!! Your dragonfly is just gorgeous! Love that beautiful red x
Lol, I had the same thing happen to me yesterday, chain piecing blocks, and in my own little world! Picked them up, and they fluttered to the floor.....separately. Your card is gorgeous! And your red basket is perfect. XO
Love the basket. The card is beautiful. Hugs, xx
You made me snicker with the binding story! Good for you, and yup I can totally relate to feeling all smug when the bobbin/top threads last perfectly! Beautiful postcard!
Loving your baskets! I think I need to make some too because I need things to put things in here... :) That would have been too funny having the borders fall off... well, not at the time perhaps, but we can laugh afterwards! xx
I cannot believe you have finished something already with your plant pounding fabric - go you! Looks lovely and I am sure it will be well received in Wales.
I LOVE those baskets - look at you all color-coordinated!!! I've never had a bobbin run out, my machine lets me know when I'm close...never taken it as close as you, you're such a daredevil living on the edge, lol!!! That dragonfly is spectacular!
Lovely work Fiona. Those fabric baskets look very decorative all lined up together. I like the concept very much.
Well done on the threads! Your basket shelf is becoming a lovely rainbow of colours now, isn't it?
very dangerous and crafty living up there.
that card is beautiful, and I tried to get to the end this week, but there was just too much quilt, lol
"Lady (working) in Red" ... love your little lineup of baskets.
Your card is so pretty!
Very clever...the card turned out lovely.
Oh you daredevil Fiona... ha ha... but yes I do agree, it's very satisfying to see just a wisp of thread left on the reel, however the empty bobbin is no laughing matter!
Super fun little red basket and I love your collection, very useful too. I also love your card, I´m sure the recipient will be delighted. Living on the edge with thread, who´d have thought! xcx
Love those baskets and you have inspired me to have a go at making some, just not this month !0) Love the card it is beautiful!
Your card is so beautiful! Lucky Welsh recipient and I love your red basket too. It might be my favourite so far.
Woo hoo dangerous living at tour place! !! The box is beautiful and the card is lovley, like the idea of the sparkly water for the dragon fly. The recipient will be very happy.
Living on the edge alright!!! Now did you sew faster or slower as you were nearing the end? I always go slow hoping to make it last, but a friend always speeds up! The post card is beautiful, what a lovely background the plant pounding gives.
