FNWF July

Always fun to sew with friends... live or virtual.... and last night it was a virtual sew in hosted by Cheryll...

Cold wet day here so the whole day was spent in the sewing room.....

Since I had made up new Bondi tops I took out some of my older ones which I had made with too wide a neck and made a funny tuck... they worked but I was happy to replace them.... The fabric was still good, if a little faded from our strong sunshine but I felt not worth throwing out so I have 'upcycled 3 of them' and cut the seams etc off and still had nice size pieces of fabric...

I made up a couple of bucket hats using this free pattern and tutorial....  I made the first one Large which was a little loose so the next one is Medium

They are fully reversible.  Personally I don't feel I suit hats... but they are necessary so I may as well have pretty Tilda fabric ones!

I am thinking of making another with a wider brim - there is still enough fabric left from the tops and they don't take long at all to make.

Then I was going to make the blocks for the border of the flannel quilt but realised I had missed out a border ... so I sewed those on...

Today I will cut the blocks for around this border....

Last night watching TV (we are catching up on Season 2 of  The Split as Season 3 is now uploaded) I continued stitching Field Journal blocks...

There was only a couple of daisies to complete on this block...

... and this little bird didn't take long at all....

Very pleased with Friday's progress....

It's another cold damp day here.... so cutting blocks for the flannel quilt will be done.  I hope you have a lovely weekend....
